Bipolar Warning-Do you know this?

Hi,

How’s it going?

What a day yesterday was. I had a ton
of things to do. I actually had to volunteer
last night at a bipolar disorder support
group. I drove all the way there through
the snow and the meeting was cancelled.

Sometimes I really scratch my head at
these groups in the mental health
field.

Anyway, I have to volunteer again tonight.
Hopefully I won’t waste 1.5 hours driving
there for nothing.

I actually have to take off pretty
quick today so I am going to have
to make this short.

Oh that’s right. If you need to
lose weight and have bipolar
disorder tomorrow (9:00am EST) I am
launching a new program. I am taking 50
people.

Read about it here:
http://www.bipolarcentral.com/weightloss/

Okay, I wanted to write you an important
email today about the following.
Before I tell you, I want to see
if you can guess.

I am going to give you a hint.
There was an old commercial that
said:

“It’s 9:00pm, do you know where
your children are?”

This use to come on TV at about 9:00pm
and basically it was designed to prompt
parents to say, “Hey, where the heck
are my kids?” and then get them
to look for them if they weren’t
around.

As a total side note: I use to hear
this when I was a kid. My best friend
Frank would always be in his house and
SCREAM to his mom,
“MOM I AM RIGHT HERE!!!!!!!!” over
and over again and laughing.

His mom would get so mad. She would be
like “shut up, I know where you are.”

🙂

Okay, on to the lesson.

Today I am going to ask you
if you know where your XXXXX
are?

What’s XXXXX?

I want you to guess what XXXXX is
and then scroll down for the
answer.

Take a guess than scroll…

Keep scrolling….

Keep going on LOL………….

You’re almost there :)……………

The answer is, your doctor and/therapist are
going to be during the holidays. This is REALLY
important.

Right after you read this, everyone should
call the doctor/therapist and see what their
holiday schedule is. Where are they
going to be BEFORE, DURING and AFTER
Christmas.

Also, don’t forget about New Years.

I don’t know why, but THREE years in a
row, we had a super difficult time getting
a hold of the doctor and therapist during
Christmas. My mom has started to go into
a bipolar disorder episode THREE years in
a row during the period between Christmas
and New Years. (Not this year SO FAR but
it looks good).

Each time we scrambled to get a hold of
the doctor and therapist. 3 years ago it
was a TOTAL nightmare. That’s when my
mom went into “the mother of all bipolar
disorder episodes.” 2 years ago it
was a nightmare when I was totally
caught off guard.

Last year it ALMOST turned into a total
nightmare but I didn’t some advanced things
to get a hold of the doctor. I learned from
years prior and I was ready. I was able
to get her doctor but I could never
reach the therapist however.

My mom needed an URGENT change to her
bipolar medication last year. I mean URGENT.

This year my mom is doing great but
we have a complete plan in place
that’s been updated in my courses/systems
below:

SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?

http://www.bipolarsupporter.com/report11

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.survivebipolar.net

I am ready this year.

Heed this warning. Make sure you know what
is going on. Many doctors/therapist take off.
Bipolar disorder knows this and it strikes
when the defense systems are down so
to speak.

It’s funny to me how bipolar disorder is like
a cunning person. It waits around and strikes
when you least expect it. I know that some
people think I am totally out of my mind when
I talk about “bipolar disorder” as a person
or thing but I know you get it.

Anyway, call right away and make sure if they
aren’t’ t going to be around you find out
who are the backups.

If you hear, “oh, I won’t be around, don’t worry
about it, someone will be here.” Push to find
out who and get all the numbers. Don’t
let anyone blow you off.

Okay I have to run. Catch you tomorrow for
the bipolar news. Also don’t forget if you
have bipolar disorder and need to lose weight,
I have a new program that I talked about
here:
http://www.bipolarcentral.com/weightloss

Oh one more thing, make sure you have enough
bipolar medication because most pharmacies
will be closed.

Don’t wait, call right now and find out.

Hey catch you tomorrow. Oh, tomorrow I will
be sending out the Bipolar Disorder weekly news
probably later around 3:00pm EST instead of in
the morning.

Your Friend,

Dave

Bipolar warning & lesson From How I almost got ran off the road

==>>Help with ALL aspects of bipolar disorder<<==
Check out all my resources, programs and information
for all aspects of bipolar disorder by visiting:
http://www.bipolarcentral.com/catalog.asp

Hi,

How’s it going?

I am sending this daily email really early
today because I have a whole lot of things
to do today.

I have a very important lesson and
warning to tell you about bipolar
disorder that relates to how I got
ran off the road yesterday. Well
almost.

Before I get started, I wrote yesterday
that my friend Rob and Marie had a baby
girl and her name is Anna.

Actually I wrote that Rob had the baby
and I quickly had a bunch of people
writing me reminding me that it’s the
woman who has the baby :). That
is 100% correct!

Also, many people asked what her name was
and that’s it in case you wanted to know.

Yesterday was a super hectic day.

I had to head over the hospital
and spend some time with them.

Actually she had the baby in the same
hospital that my mom went to in her
last major bipolar episode.

Actually let’s talk about that really
quick. Some people believe that mental health
facilities are like prisons and look
really dirty and dingy. That’s what
I thought as well.

But I was shocked when I went to see
my mom when she was there. It was like
she was in a vacation hotel. It was really
nice.

These days, there are many facilities
that look nice and the people treat
you well.

So don’t be afraid if you have to go
into the hospital for a check up
or tune up for your bipolar disorder.

On that note, there is someone who is
selling a book on bipolar disorder that
basically says that the entire mental
health system doesn’t care about
people with a mental illness.

This is TOTALLY untrue. There are certain
people that don’t care about people
with a mental illness but not the
entire system.

I make it a point to teach in my systems/
courses below:

SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarsupporter.com/report11

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.survivebipolar.net

to teach how to find great doctors
and therapists for bipolar disorder.
I even teach how to sort through
hundreds of them very quickly and
have them contact you letting
you know they are fully qualified.

I get annoyed when people write stuff
that is full of sweeping generalizations–
like all people in mental health don’t
care about those with bipolar disorder.

That’s not true. But it is true you have
to find the ones that will help you
and avoid the bad people and places. BUT
saying everyone and everything related
to mental health is bad is not right.

Now on to the story.

So yesterday I went to the hospital to see
Rob and Marie.

Then I had to leave around 5:30 to go to my
meeting.

I was driving on the highway and BANG! Guess
what? There was dead stopped traffic. Why?
Well New Jersey is full of dead stopped
traffic. New Jersey’s traffic is a joke.
No matter what time you leave there is traffic.
I was in an area there isn’t suppose to be traffic
and there was traffic.

So then after like 20 minutes we were driving
really slow and there was someone who had
an accident. Everyone had to watch and look
which created the traffic.

So then we started driving faster. I was
driving along and someone was driving
right behind me. I am talking like a foot
or so away. I couldn’t believe it. They almost
hit me from behind.

So I pulled over and then this person tried
to pull over in my lane so I wound up driving
in the shoulder and almost spinning off into the
grass.

I got run off the road. It was strange. I think
the person was talking on his cell phone and
not paying attention.

I was so mad.

I then slowed down and didn’t want to be anywhere
near this person. I was SUPER MAD at how this
person was driving.

So I wound up getting to my meeting late but
it started late so I was okay. I was so mad
about being run off the road that it was a little
tough to concentrate.

At the meeting, I was going to hear a speaker
talk about a number of different important
business strategies I have to learn for this
entire bipolar organization.

The speaker was super smart but he was dispensing
information at a rapid rate. Eventually I was totally
lost. He was telling us so much information I thought
my head was going to explode.

He was saying all these things and I couldn’t
follow. I was trying to take notes but I missed
a number of things.

At the end, I went up to him and said he was
super smart but it was hard to follow and I feel
like I missed so much.

He said to me, “Don’t worry about it, it took
me a while to learn this and you will learn it
incrementally overtime not in one night.”

Then I thought about something. It hit me.
It’s the same with bipolar disorder.

I get some many people with bipolar disorder
that are overwhelmed from it all. Maybe a loved
one tried to hit them or did something
really bad as well. So they are kind of thinking
of that at the same time they are trying
to figure out what’s the next step or
trying to figure out what kind of treatment
plan will be required.

So they wind up missing information and
start to feel behind.

Has this ever happen to you? It’s similar
to my situation of being run off the road.
I then went to the meeting annoyed and not
focused and then it was hard to follow along
with the information.

What’s the solution to this with bipolar disorder?
It’s to learn incrementally over time and realize
you won’t learn it all in a day.

When you get my systems and courses, you should
go through it many times. You should read these
daily emails. You should listen to my podcasts.
If you keep doing this over time, you’ll really
get it.

It takes time. After incremental learning, you’ll
really get it and it will become second nature.

This is the exact approach I am going to take
with the new business stuff that I am going to learn.

With bipolar disorder, if you don’t get something,
ask someone for help. Keep asking. You can ask
me. You can use my fr.ee consultation certificates
that come with my courses/systems.

You can ask the doctor. You can ask the therapist.
Doesn’t this make sense?

Don’t expect to learn everything right away in
a short period of time. Don’t put that pressure
on yourself. And remember bipolar disorder is
traumatic for both bipolar supporters and bipolar
survivors. Sometimes it will be difficult to learn
and think and you might not “get it” like you want
to and you just have to learn the next day or the
next week. Just do your best.

Does this make sense?

I hope so.

Well I have to take off. I’ll catch you tomorrow.

Your Friend,

Dave

The danger of hope and bipolar disorder

Hi,

How’s it going?

I had a ton of things I wanted to
tell you today BUT, I got back
from the gym super late today
and also my friend Rob just
had a baby. Actually his wife
had the baby and he just provided
moral support 🙂

On this note, I once had a woman
describe childbirth to me. It made
me feel like there should be a mothers
day every month instead of once a year
🙂

Anyway, I have to go really quick today
and head down to the hospital. I actually
have 6 interviews scheduled for today
as well so I am not sure how I am
going to work this.

Also, if you have bipolar disorder and
want to lose weight, mark your calendar the
December 21, 2007 at 10:00am.
You should go to
http://www.bipolarcentral.com/weightloss

Remember I am only taking the first
50 people.

Okay let me get moving on today’s
bipolar disorder topic. I have wanted to
write about this for a while.

I was thinking today about hope.

But not in the usual way.

I was thinking about how hope can
be a bad thing.

See, I’ll compare it to the lottery.

There are some people who all they
do is spend their money on the
lottery, hoping to get rich and be
able to quit their jobs and have an
easy life.

Those people don’t try very hard
at work – some of them aren’t even
able to hold down a job very long,
because of their attitude, thinking
that they’re not gonna be there long
because they’re going to be rich this
week, just you wait and see, this week
is the week they’ll win the lottery!

See what I’m getting at?

And that’s how they live their lives.

On hope. From day to day.

But it’s not a good hope. It’s not a
realistic hope.

This “hope thinking” person will
sit back and almost be (or might
actually be) lazy, just waiting for
luck to find him, so he doesn’t
think he has to do anything in
order to get ahead and be
successful at anything.

He won’t take responsibility for
anything. He might even act like
the world owes him a living! Or
if he’s got bipolar disorder, he’ll
act like HE’S the victim!

And there he sits, day after day,
buying his lottery tickets, hoping to
“win” his way out of poverty.

Now let’s take this same man who,
Ok, maybe he’s not rich, maybe his
job isn’t the greatest job in the world,
but it’s enough to put food on the table,
and makes him feel good about himself
because he’s being productive.

Sure, he’d love it if he won a million
dollars. But he doesn’t sit at home
waiting for it to come to him. He works
hard for the money he makes, and in
his small world of influence, he is
considered a success.

No, he’s not a millionaire, but he’s
got a fairly decent life. He pays his
bills, has a wonderful wife and family,
a few friends, etc. And he’s happy.

Do you think the first guy, the one
waiting around to win the lottery so
he can be a millionaire and finally be
rich is happy?

I teach in my courses about being
proactive. That’s the second guy –
he’s proactive.

SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.survivebipolar.net

So what does this have to do with
Bipolar disorder? Well, firstly, like
I just said, that I teach in my courses
how to be proactive – you can’t just
sit around waiting for help to come to
you – you have to get out there and
do some things for yourself.

You can’t just sit at home waiting to
be a millionaire by buying lottery
tickets, either. But you can still hold
down a job outside the home, or work
from home, start a home business,
etc.

Bipolar disorder does NOT have
to stop anyone from caring for their
family.

It’s up to you. You can sit back and
“hope” that your loved one’s bipolar
disorder will magically go away by
itself, or you can be proactive and
see what you can do to help your loved
one manage their disorder better.

Hope, in your case, can be good or
bad. Which is it for you?

Dave

Don’t Make This Mistake With Bipolar Disorder

Hi!

Hope you’re going to have a great
day.

I wanted to say a few things
before we get into today’s
topic.

1. Check your email later on
today for the new information
on how to have a great and low
cost Christmas with Bipolar Disorder.
I’ll send it out later today.
Andrea is putting it up today.

2. I wanted to remind everyone

I am putting out for those with
bipolar disorder.

Mark your calendar the

You should go to

Remember I am only taking the first
50 people.

3. Someone wrote me yesterday and
said:

“You must be crazy. How could you
hire people with bipolar disorder
and how in the world can your company
really work right if all the people
with bipolar disorder are running it.”

I have gotten a few responses like that.
First, I find that comment insulting to
people with bipolar disorder. Secondly,
I don’t think some people get it. The
person who is stable with bipolar disorder
is capable of doing great things.

I think people get caught up thinking
that everyone with bipolar disorder is
not stable. This is NOT the case.

I am actually going to be releasing
an article next year titled:

Why every company needs more people
with bipolar disorder to survive
in the coming future.

I am going to be sending it out to
all the business publications in the
us.

Well, let’s move on. It’s super cold
here. Yesterday it snowed, than sleeted,
then rained and now it’s all frozen.

It’s a total mess. So I have to hurry
up so I can get my car ready to go
pick up some stuff.

On to today’s bipolar disorder lesson:

I’ve been thinking about something,
and wanted to share my thoughts
with you. It’s about what happens
when you try to accomplish too
much too fast.

Think about it. When you try to
accomplish too much too fast,
you are just setting yourself up
for failure, because you’ll never
be able to do it. It also gets very
discouraging for you.

Also, if you don’t know how long
something should take, you can
start to think it’s taking too long.

For example, after an episode.
It could take up to a year to fully
“fix” the after effects of an episode.
Like the financial ruin – you can’t
fix a bankruptcy in just two weeks!

But some people think you can
just do it overnight! We don’t rush
the stroke victim or even the cancer
victim, why do we rush the victim
of bipolar disorder?

Thinking that they should be over
an episode after just a week or two
is just plain unrealistic expectations.

Would we have that same expectation
if they were getting over a physical
illness? Then why are we expecting
it from a bipolar episode?

In my courses, I interview people
who are success stories, and
they talk about how long it took
them sometimes to fully recover
from some of their episodes, and
some of them say it took a whole
year, and some even longer! You
can read about this and hear
about it in the interviews in my
courses:

There are certain things in life
that take a certain amount of time
to happen. It’s just the way it has
to be.

Think about things in nature.
Like the butterfly – it starts off
as a caterpillar…then it goes into
a cocoon… and only after a
certain period of time does it
metamorphose into that
beautiful butterfly! It just doesn’t
happen overnight.

And if you interrupt it at any
point in the chain of events, the
whole thing would be ruined!

Some things just can’t be rushed.
Other things just have to take place
in a certain order. And still other
things have to take place at a
certain time.

Wanting your loved one who has
bipolar disorder to get over their
episode overnight is like wanting
them to be that beautiful butterfly
without going through the cocoon
phase!

Some things are just worth waiting
for. You just have to be more
patient sometimes.

Well, I have to run. See you
tomorrow!

Dave

5 Announcements about Bipolar Disorder

==>>Help with ALL aspects of bipolar disorder<<==
Check out all my resources, programs and information
for all aspects of bipolar disorder by visiting:
http://www.bipolarcentral.com/catalog.asp

Hi,

How’s it going?

Today I wanted to send a simple email
about some announcements about bipolar
disorder.

I actually have to take off pretty quick
because I have to figure out how to
get out of my driveway.

We have 4 inches of solid
ice on the roads. I don’t even
know how I am going to drive today.
But I have to because I have places to go
and people to see 🙂

Here are the announcements:

1. I have put together an article on having
a low cost fun Christmas. I also have an
audio recording that I am sending out. It
has REALLY important information on
how to have a good Christmas. There are
a number people on my list struggling
on my list that don’t feel they can have a
good Christmas because of financial problems.

This article and audio recording will be
sent out tomorrow. Andrea was going to
post it today but it’s her son’s birthday
and she doesn’t have time. I’ll have her
get it up tomorrow.

2. Yesterday was the day angry emails, a
few angry posts and angry phone calls. I know
in December I get a spike in hate mail,
death threats and people all mad at me. Why?
Well I think that when seasons change,
holiday stress comes and unstable people aren’t
doing well, they take it out on me. It’s
happen EVERY year since I started.

A person who has bipolar disorder who works
for me asked, “Don’t you get sick and tired
of hearing this type of stuff in December
every year?” I said, “yea I do and it’s annoying
but I realize the people doing this stuff
are sick and not really in their right mind
or not thinking clearly.”

So I just ignore all of this.

3. New program coming.

I want to tell you about a new program
that I talked about in November. But it
addresses one angry post I saw yesterday.

It said:

“Every piece of email I receive from this
Bipolar Supporter stuff starts talking about
money and asking if I would pass up a doctor
who costs more for someone who is incompetent
but charges less.

I am on Social Security Disability and have one
of the lowest levels of income…. below federal
poverty level. I have NO money!

This woman is mad at me. Why? I think because
yesterday I sent a daily email that basically
said, many people “get what they pay for
when it comes to doctors.” I was encouraging
people to shop for doctors and work with
doctors that know what they are doing when it
comes to their situation with bipolar disorder
as opposed to just jumping at the first
one that is a “deal.”

Anyway the person who wrote me is
mad obviously. I believe because of what I said
in my email. If I am guessing, she feels she
can’t afford a “Good” doctor and that my
advice is not for people like her. It is
for sure. She obviously has financial problems.
There are so many things that I could write
about what I think she could do to afford
treatment. I believe she is way off track.

I wanted to remind her and all the other
people on my list that I am going to be launching
a new program on how to get free and low cost
medication and treatment for bipolar disorder.

I, along with 7 other people, have been working hard
on this program for a while now. There’s going
to be a pilot program launched soon to test out
any bugs and then a full roll out to everyone
on my list. This program will be totally free
and paid for but yours truly.

Why isn’t it ready now? I don’t think some people
realize but I am NOT a drug company with billions
of dollars in my bank account and a staff of 1000
people waiting to work on projects. ALL these projects
are paid for by ME out of my own pocket and we have
up to 17 or so people who can work on things at any
one time. BUT there are a lot of projects that require
time and money. I have gotten zero grants and no
donations. I am not saying that for you to feel sorry
for me but so you know the deal.

Right now, I have 15 projects in development which
I think is pretty darn good. We have a great team
that works really hard. I think 80% of our team
has a mental illness or at least one. Some have
many. This is the reason we can get a lot done. Why?
The people who work for me are great problem solvers
so they can get like 3 to 4 times what a regular
person can get done in the same time frame. They
spend little time figuring stuff out and more time
doing things.

BUT, every day I have to decide what projects will be
worked on. Which projects will get what money.
The low cost and affordable treatment for bipolar
disorder is a top priority. And I will be making
this totally free. It will be for anyone and everyone.

So the next time you want to send me an angry
email or complain that I haven’t come out with this
or that fast enough, reread what I wrote and realize
how much we have done so far and also we only
have so much time and resources to get things done.
We all work as fast and as hard as possible.

As it stands now everyone that works for me
is working right up to Christmas and the day
after Christmas. At least 50% of the people
who work for me are working on Christmas
to get things done. Do I want you to feel
bad for me? NO. But I want to cut down
on the complaints on why projects aren’t
done faster.

3. I have a new guide coming out on how to
lose weight faster if you have bipolar disorder.
I have actually lost 60 pounds myself and kept
it off for 8 years. I have taught tons of people
my system.

I know with so many people with bipolar disorder,
their weight is a big problem. I want to help.

I have been working on this new guide for some
time as well. I am actually going to send it out to 75
people for free. (Warning-There’s over 160,000 people
who signed up for my list)

All they have to do is pay the shipping. It
will be like a free review trial. ALL details will
be explained Friday Morning at 9:00am EST. Also the first
25 people who respond get a free consultation
from me on how to lose weight faster and keep
it off (which I am an expert on). I will call you and
even pay for the phone call.

The first 3 people to respond will get a free
vacation certificate as well. As you might know, I have
a number of businesses. I am able to get vacation
certificates for a bunch of places in the US.
I will be giving away 3 vacation certificates
to the first 3 people to take me up on my free
trial.

Mark your calendar the December 21, 2007 at 10:00am.
You should go to www.bipolarcentral.com/weightloss

NOTE-This site doesn’t work now but it will
on that date. Just make a note of the site.

Actually Michele Soloway has used the program
and lost weight.

4. I will be hiring more new people for
a few new positions. Keep your eyes open
for an announcement over the next coming weeks.

5. For some reason I have had a bunch of people
ask about coming to my office to take a look
at my stuff. One guy posted that he wanted to
get one of my programs below:

SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarsupporter.com/report11

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.survivebipolar.net

But wanted to know where he could go
to talk about it if he was unhappy with
the material. I think the person was
being a “wise guy.”

There is NO office people can come
and visit. Why? Can you imagine if
I had to staff a 24 hour a day or even
a 9 hour day office where people could
come by? Imagine the security costs.

For some reason I don’t think a lot of
people understand the economics of things.
If you have a big office with security
which you’re going to have to hire, that’s
going to take money away from research and
development. So you would wind up spending
more on the office and it’s overhead than
anything else. That makes no sense.

It’s like there was a support group
I USE to go to. There was like 8 to 11 people
there. It was great. They had okay speakers
and great food. Why were their so few people
there? They had ZERO dollars for a marketing
budget. They were more concerned with food
and handouts than they were in great
speakers and having a 100 people in attendance.
They did NO marketing because they spent all
their money on food. Can you believe that?????

Whenever I complained that they needed
to market themselves better to get more people
their, I heard, “We don’t have the money or
the budget.” I would say, “Well let’s cut the
fancy handouts out and stop serving food.”

They never did. Now they don’t exist. Why?
Someone reviewed the program and felt it
helped too few people. Is this insane or
what.

Everyday I have to make decisions based on
the longevity of this organization and reaching
and helping the most people. Having a office you
can come by and hang out in is not going to happen.
It doesn’t make any financial sense at all.
If that makes you mad, sorry.

Well I have to take off. I know for sure I’ll
get a lot of hate mail because of some of things
I wrote but oh well.

Have a great day.

Your Friend,

Dave

Bipolar Disorder Lesson From My Shoveling Snow–I fell down

==>>Help with ALL aspects of bipolar disorder<<==
Check out all my resources, programs and information
for all aspects of bipolar disorder by visiting:
http://www.bipolarcentral.com/catalog.asp

Hi,

How’s it going?

Hope you are doing well.

I wanted to tell you what happen
to me on Thursday and it’s a very
important bipolar disorder lesson.

Here’s what happen. It snowed on Thursday.
You may have heard about the “big snowstorm”
in the Northeastern part of the USA.

So everyone was all freaked out about it.
It was a lot less snow than they said
it was going to be.

So at around 5:00pm, I was done working
and decided to head over to the gym.

I went there and couldn’t believe there
was no one in the parking lot. I knew
exactly what had happen–the gym was closed
early.

I couldn’t believe it. I was so annoyed.
So then I thought “what am I going to
do?” I decided to drive over to my
one office and pick up some stuff. It’s
also by where my parents live. So I decided
to head over there.

I was driving along and one of those “New Jersey
mean drivers” (which New Jersey is filled with),
was driving right behind me. I let him pass
and when he did, he honked his horn at me.

I was driving 35 miles per hour in a 35 mile
per hour zone with snow on the road?

So I went to the office, and picked up some stuff.

Then I decided to stop by the store and pick
my mom up a surprise (my dad was away on a trip
so he wasn’t going to get a surprise). I got
over to my parents and noticed that my mom
had a little bit of the drive way shoveled.

So I figured I would be a good son so to speak
and shovel the rest. So I went into the
garage and looked for the “good shovel.”

The good shovel seemed to have vanished
and there was another one. I was skeptical
about how good it would be.

IMPORTANT BIPOLAR LESSON COMING

Here is where my nightmare started.

So I started using the shovel. It
was horrible. This being kind.

It was super flimsy. It was junk.
I was getting really mad. Then I fell
down trying to push the snow. The
thing was terrible. I had sneakers
on.

I had a bad shovel and I was slipping
and sliding all over the place. This
little kid saw me and laughed and asked
if I was dancing. I said, “NO, how
about you help me.” He said, ‘I
am going to play with my Xbox.”

I slid all over the place.
I noticed that people were looking at
me as the drove by like, I was some kind
of “side show.”

Then people were driving by and beeping
at me and saying, “hey, how’s it going,
having fun?”

I was like in my head, “yea, I am having
a blast.”

So I wound up spending a really long time
doing a job that should have taken 15 minutes.

WHY?

Because the shovel was horrible. I was
so mad at the darn shovel I decided
it would be punished when I was done.
It was going to be put into the garbage.

I was wondering while I was shoveling
should I try to go find another one really
fast. But I figured that would take longer.

Eventually my mom came out side. I wanted
to surprise her but since it was taking me
so darn long and it was so noisy, she eventually
heard me.

I was like “mom, what the heck kind of shovel
did you buy?” She was like, “one that was
on sale.”

I was like “why didn’t you get the good kind?”
She said, “that cost a lot more.”

I said, “do you want the shovel to work right?”
She thought about it and said, “well I guess
you are right, I guess that’s why it was so
hard for me to shovel the driveway.”

I said, “You think :)?”

I was finally done. Then I said to
the people watching and laughing that
it was time to pay up for my show.
They laughed at me some more. One
person asked if I would shovel their
driveway as well. I was like, “no
thanks!”

Then I was thinking about something
with bipolar disorder.

how people shop for doctors and
the important bipolar disorder lesson.

You know what the first question from
the average person is?
Guess and then scroll down…

No cheating!!! Guess then scroll down…

“How much do you charge?” If someone say a lot,
many people say, “oh that’s too much.” You know
what the first questions should be:

-Do you know bipolar disorder well?
-How much experience with bipolar disorder do you have?
-What your philosophy of medication?
-What kind of success have you seen?
-Are you accessible for emergencies if so, how?
-Have you ever been sued for your services?
-How long are your visits with patients?

I talk about how to shop for a doctor. I have a
system where you can sort through hundreds
of doctors or therapists and have them
contact you full qualified. Then you just
ask the questions I have listed (like
the ones above and more). I also go
a step further and have the doctor
sign a document with their answers.

It sounds crazy, or impossible but it
works. This is how I found
my mom’s doctor. I NEVER worried
about price first.

You worry about if the person can
do the job and then price.

Just like the shovel. The shovel
my mom bought was a great price but
it was horrible. It didn’t do the job.
Overtime the shovel will wind up erasing
any savings because it takes so darn long
to use the piece of junk.

When it comes to doctors, ones that
are direct cheap usually are terrible,
flooded with patients and unable to
deliver great service and they themselves
don’t usually stay in one practice long.

Ever have this happen where you just think
of price.

You really do get what you pay for.
I saw these towels in the store a month ago.
It was like $6.99 for a million (okay
maybe not that many, like 30).

I swear that they fell apart in my car
on the way from the store 🙂

I told my Grandmother and she laughed
and said, “You get what you pay for.”

Well I have to run. Catch you tomorrow.

Dave
