F.ree information on bipolar medications

Hi,

How’s it going? I don’t have much time today because
I have to run. In the middle of moving, yesterday
I got a call on my cell
phone from someone who got one of my courses
and she said she was amazed how much f.ree information
she got on bipolar medications using a very simple
technique in my course.

It’s so simple that I can explain it in this
email easily.

How do you get f.ree information on bipolar
medications? The answer is by calling
the toll f.ree number of the manufacturer
or the medication or going to the drug
company’s website.

You’ll find tons of f.ree information
and almost the side effects that one may
experience.

Here are some other places you can get information
on bipolar medications.

-From your doctor
-The manufacturer of the bipolar medication’s website.
So, each medication is made by someone. That person
will have f.ree information on the medication on their
website and might even have an entire website devoted
to the bipolar medication.

IMPORTANT NOTE

If you are bad at internet research, simply
ask a friend, a person at the library or a smart
kid to help you. You can go to stores like staples
and they are filled with smart kids who you can
ask internet research questions about and they
will show you. They have lots of smart kids. I know
many people who just go to a local staples and
get f.ree help over there.

-Toll f.ree phone number of manufacturer. Most of
the drug companies have toll f.ree numbers and
you can call and talk to real live human beings
who actually know what they are talking about.
Check your bottle, check the drug company’s website,
and you’ll find this phone number.

-From resources that are written in hard copy
in the library. Go to a big library, ask the
reference librarian to help you find credible
information on the medications you are looking
into. Stress you need it to be credible.
-SOME and I stress SOME websites online.

WARNING!

Watch out for information you get on the internet
or bipolar supporter groups in reference to
medications. Most of it’s wrong, or not totally
correct. I especially hear lots of incorrect information
disseminated from local support groups. How do I know?
I have been volunteering at several for 2.5 years now,
so I know.

Also be careful of what you hear from people reporting
side effects. Many people often exaggerate what
the side effects really are because they hate
medication and want to suggest it’s super
bad. It’s not. Medication is the key to bipolar
disorder. Period. No ifs, ands or buts.

Now after you get all this f.ree information, make
sure you have system to reduce side effects.
This is a more complicated issue.

In my courses/systems I go over this:

SUPPORTING AN ADULT?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarsupporter.com/report11

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.survivebipolar.net

BUT the bottom line is, you have to work
with your doctor when you or your loved one
has side effects. Don’t hide anything. Report
EVERYTHING to your doctor. AND, after you
get your f.ree information on you or your
loved one’s medication, you then know what
side effects to look for and report.

Right now, take the time to go and get some
f.ree information on you or your loved one’s
bipolar medication. It’s totally f.ree so
you have nothing to lose. Do this today
and don’t wait.

I have to run now. Catch you tomorrow. Have
a great day.

Your Friend,

Dave

  1. Just wanted to say thank-you Mr. Oliver for the help u have given me concerning bipolar, my husband has it and we just found out and it has almost cost us our marriage because i didn’t understand the condition and u have made it alot easier and we are still working on the medicines .

  2. Hi Dave:
Thx for your continuous e.mail support. As I told you in a recent blog, I am 43. I was diagnosed Bipolar 24 years ago. I am giving a chance now to valproic acid but I don ‘t put much hope in recovery from this disorder. From the age of 17 I have presented learning difficulties and anxiety.- So far, I haven’t found any effective treatment. This disorder is like a disabling ghost. I used to have photographic memory but I lost it.I wonder if I can get it back. Lol.
    take care, and GBY.

  3. Do you offer the bipolar survival guide in french???
My boyfriend has bipolar and wants to learn more about it but only speaks french.
    Thanks

  4. Hey Dave,
Hope your moving is going better.
I just want to say Thank You for
all the free information you give out. Our son has bipolar and when
we get his medicine filled at CVS,
they attach a typed printed description of the medication, what it is used for, how it is used, and side effects that may happen. This is a big help to most people for all the medications filled there. No, I do
not work there or have any affiliation with them. Just that this information is free and has helped us on all medications. Hope this will help someone.

  5. I just read you email regarding getting free information regarding medictaions. I would add one more thing to the information you provided. I live in Canada and many of our psychiatric drug are free but not all are on the governments list of eligible drugs. Usually the new or expensive one are not. And as you point out when it come to psychotropic medication you have to keep trying them until you find the one(s) that work for that individual. The point I want to make is that the drug manufacturers have information lines, but they also create reimbursement and assistance programs. This is what i do for a living I run several of these programs. And for many drug there are programs that will help you lobby your insurance for coverage often “no”isn’t really know it real yes if you fill out this or that form or meet this or that criteria, that is where the programs and people like me come in we know the questions to ask and how to play the game. In addition many of these programs have an assistance component, by that I mean the manufacturers will often pay all or a portion of the amounts your insurance does not. And if your doctor makes a good case for it with the drug companies sales rep. the manufacturer sometime can provide you with a compassionate drug supply (ie free medication) but you need to find out if there is a program associated with a particular drug. Have your doctor ask the rep, you call the info line read the info package that came with the drug usually the programs will be listed there. And yes these programs are designed to increase sales of the drug, but who cares if the drug works for you or your loved one does it really matter. The fact is the drug companies do have lots of money so why not take advantage of their marketing plan and get the needed medication for free or for less. I hope this information is useful to someone.
Keep up the good work Dave. your mini course has helped me a lot. I understand my exwife a lot better. And i will be more ready to support her if and when she decides to get diagnosed, right she is too dangerous to me and our kids that I can do nothing for her, I have to concentrate on keeping my boys and me safe and healthy.

  6. As an RN I find medlineplus.com a very user-friendly site for easy to understand drug information. I use this site for all my patient teaching needs

  7. QUANTUM LEAPS this WEEK!

My husband and I have been struggling for the past year with episodes. At first I thought he was just inconsiderate and that I’d made a massive error in judgement about who I married.

I knew in my heart that my husband is a considerate, loving and thoughtful person and then came the giant and painful fights.

I started learning more about his bipolar condition, mainly out of desperation. Then I got a grip.

In moments of relative calm, I would drop hints that I was learning more and he was annoyed but receptive.

This week we had TWO QUANTUM LEAPS

    1. He was in the beginning of a manic episode and I pointed it out and after some suggesting he sit and mediate for 5 minutes, HE DID! It didn’t totally ward off the episode, but it did help.

    2. Last night he was feeling hyper and depressed and admitted it to me, and we sat down with the materials I bought (thanks for the discount) and he read all night long.

He’s very excited to learn more about his condition and I am finding that he really wants help, but didn’t know where to ask it.

Instantly, our relationship is stronger and I am so proud.

    Thanks David.

  8. would you please send me the signs of bipolar,my doc thought i might be a little bipolar,i see a phsyciatrist and he put me on geodon, it made me sick and feel worse i couldnt take it,ive never been tested so could you send me some signs of it please.

  9. What does a person do when they don’t have insurance? My daughter may lose her job due to the bipolar keeping her from being assertive enough due to the effect of the meds. She says she can’t afford them if she isn’t covered. What are people to do?
