  1. Yes, it does make sense somehow that people would recover more quickly when married or in a loving relationship. I wish I could get my loved one to understand this. He was happy when he was with me. Now he wants to do nothing, goes to sleep early and gets up late and is afraid that creative inspiration or any bit of fun will bring on a manic episode. More likely right now he is heading for a depression, sleeping 14 hours a day. 2 of his siblings also had bipolar. His brother committed suicide, his sister has a supportive husband and has been episode free for 10 years. His brother was undiagnosed and untreated, though.
    This doesn’t just go for people with bipolar. I am also much happier when in a relationship. Love is a great therapist.

  2. Seasonal depression is usually cyclic and is much more common in people in northern parts of the country. Though symptoms can end up being the same as major depression, the signs and symptoms go away as the seasons change. Light therapy treatments have become helpful for people who have been diagnosed with seasonal depression or seasonal affective disorder.
