Your Friend,

Dave

  1. i am wondering if anyone has had any dealings with a supplement called Truehope empowerplus. iam considering replacing my meds (lamictal, zoloft) with it.
    thanks, MikeG

  2. I will surely help others who have bipolar disorder. Thank you Dave for sharing.

  3. First of all: I am always leery of anyone selling anything! Having said that, I do think that our bodies are designed to be “self healing”. However, the more artificial our environment/world becomes the less friendly it becomes toward anything natural, including “self healing” I think that medicines help and simultaneously harm – it’s a bit of a catch 22. Likewise, trying to “self heal” in such an unnatural world seems to have both helpful and harmful potential as well. The bottom line seems to be attempts to find balanced, good common sense manners of responding to our ailments and whatever unbalanced chemistry we many be dealing with. Not an easy achievement.

My primary “gripe” with almost everything in the medical system is this: an individual is diagnosed with an ailment which affects not only their own life but also the lives of their family members – then the individual is responded to medically and with other therapies – BUT – the rest of the family is just ignored as if they were not affected and as if their involvement with the primary affected person had no impact even on the primary affected person! This seems like madness to me. How can such “insane” practices help to lead anyone to mental wellness?

  4. I am a mother of a 23 year old son,his about to get disability and I am right now having a very bad time with Dr.giving him meds that are stated not to give him in records so I have to get guardianship and conserviter I need help to pay for this does anyone know how I can get help where to go?who to talk to?anything at all.???

  5. To Mike Gunn: Yes, My daughter has been on Empowerplus for 10 months and has been very successful getting off her meds (lamictal and adderall). It is sometimes difficult for the first 6 months, but Truehope has a good support staff and an excellent message board where participants give support and great information.

Even those who have not had total success find it to be a good stepping stone in their quest for natural mental health. They do not claim to cure BP, but manage it with nutrients. Some have been very successful with the product and micro doses of pharmaceuticals or lithium. It has been worthwhile for us.

  6. Thank you Margie for the info! I think I will try Empowerplus in the near future.

1st off his medicine- many drug manufacturers have programs available for low income persons. You need to find out who the drug manufacturer is , check on internet.
Contact drug manufacturer and inquire as to whether or not they have such a program. Some do , but some do not.

I get my most expensive medications directly from the drug manufacturer.

Dr visits can get expensive too. In most cases if you live in populated area there are psychiatric centers or hospitals that have sliding scale fee programs. In general the doctors fee is less to begin with at these locations. Contact Department of Human Services they should be able to help locate such a center.

    Hope this was helpful!
