  1. I started documenting my moods before I read that article but I stopped because I’m so paranoid of people reading it and looking like a crazy. I’m not officially diagnosed yet so I’m afraid I’ll be making a mountain of a mole hill. I have to wait a while to go to the doctor, no one takes me seriously when I tell them I dont feel well, not even my mother.
    I’m feeling so overwhelmed.
I dont know who’s a good doctor to go to. I’m basically alone in all this.

  2. What bothers me even more than diagnosing a 3 or 4 y/o with Bi-polar disorder is the overwhelming amount of toddlers being diagnosed with ADHD! This has been going on for a very long time, all you have to do is take your baby to the doctor and say that he/she has ADHD, describe a few of the symptoms and they are given a medication that puts them to sleep most of the time. My Sister (God rest her soul) had this done to her son before he was 2. How do you diagnose one so young, who is exploring everything, normally as a 2 y/o should, as ADHD. Whenever I watched him for a while all he had to do was sit still longer than a minute and he was asleep. I expressed my concern to my sister about him sleeping so much and she said it was the effects of the hyper active meds! I almost lost it, to say the least. Today he is somewhat normal, in spite of the drugs at an early age, and we have a very close relationship. When I told him his mother had passed away, she was living about 1200 miles away from us, he cried one single tear! Later I asked him why and he told me that he was sad that she had died but he didn’t really know his mother. And how can a child 3 – 4 y/o possibly be diagnosed properly with Bi-polar Disorder? I have a lot of experience in dealing with BPD and I couldn’t tell that my daughter had a problem until she was in 1st grade, when she bit a 5th grader so hard in the arm it brought blood because he was always bullying his way to the front of the lunch line! And I seriously doubt she could have been properly diagnosed with BP, she had anger issues, for sure but it takes more than anger issues in order to properly diagnose BPD. But by the time she hit puberty it was apparent their was more going on than just anger issues and she was diagnosed with BPD, but it took several sessions with her Psych for him to be able to properly diagnose her with Bi-polar Disorder and attempt to treat her. The problem with treating a child with BPD is there are so many drugs that not safe for a child to take. I just can’t imagine a 3 y/o taking Seroquel! the quack who gave this child all these meds that caused her to die should be in jail, not the parents as they were following the instructions in medicating her by someone who was supposed to be a specialist in the field of Psychiatry. I believe the one who wrote the prescriptions should be under attack and not be able to practice medical anything until he/she can prove the reasoning for such heavy drugs being prescribed for a child so young. But a quick diagnosis of BPD in one so young is gaining more ground every day, or so it seems to me.
