there seems to be loads of info about bipolar, but im still not toally sure i have it? just i have real ups and really bad lows for no particular reason, my grandmother (now dead) was diagnosed manic depression but i am, unable to discuss with her the detail of her condition. i get really angre for no real reason, not phisically aggressive just angry and sad, i find it hard to find joy in my life even though i have a good job good income a brilliant girlfriend and great kids a nice home etc, but i still feel depressed!
Chris~ My name is Tonya.I am 38 years old.I was diagnosed with Bipolar now for 8-10 years now.Before The Doctors thought it was depression and horrible PMS (AHHH)Until they put me on Zoloft and I went on a complete manic high for an entire summer. I was 28 tears old.Drinking almost every night till the crack of dawn spending…Just crazy.After the crazy high I hit the floor .became a hermit. Of course After urging from my loved ones I went back to my Doctor who then changed my diagnoses to Bipolar .This is A text book case. Everyones syptoms are differant and can be triggered by stress, lack of sleep etc.
We looked back through the years at my behaviour as it would seem the syptoms were there all along. My rages were MUCH worse at a younger age amd my manic episodes were just chalked up as Tonya The Spaz.
As I have aged My syptoms have changed more rapid,not lasting as long and the mania is not fun any more it is a feeling of being anxious. But… have also been diagnosed with ADD which may explain that anxious feeling.We are still workig with this.
With a good Doctor/Therepist who ask the right questions AND you MUST be VERY involved in your treatment.Ask questions Do your research. You may have to try (if you decide) several differant meds to get yourself on the right track and it may be frustrating. But the Docs will do what they can to get you feeling like yourself.
If you have not begun any treatmentyo can go in for a consult.There are Doctors have more experience in Bipolar than other do not be afraid to ask.

I am the one who thinks these people need to take responsibility for their actions.
I an the one who thinks we don’t have to put up with their abuse or their drinking or their violence.
“oh, they can’t help it,oh they don’t mean it”
Bull—- I am sick of hearing that.

June B~ Yes we should take responsibilty for or actions.THAT is why we get help. No we do not mean it. When we are manic we live in the moment .We do not think of the consequenses until all is said and done and boy do we regret our actions.I should not speak 4 all .This what I have learned in my groups.
THIS is an illness. If you are involved with a person with Bipolar and suffererd abuse I am truly sorry.
Have taken Daves Mini course? I have not but just found this website.
Being Bipolar and growing up with a alcoholic/Biplar mother am may understand your angst. It is a terrible thing to live with.
People with this illness do not get better. you are right .They will have episodes the rest of their lives.With the proper Doc,Therapest and medication these episodes are MUCH better controlled .

Yes, June…you’re right..because David’s emails come as “no-repy” we are unable to email him. Even when I used his other email, he never responded directly to me…Instead, he kept sending this no-reply messages and never address the email we send him.
David, I left you a message on your machine about my account. When are you going to fix the problem? I’ve already returnt he material and besides not having got my refund, I even got two more charges on my credit card…
And let me just make it clear that I have no bipolar disorder. I’m just an unsatisfied customer who wants her money back.

You don’t know how much I look forward to getting on line, just to hear from you! I have no support person for my bi polar and addiction. I am basically on my own. My husband just can’t deal with it or cares not to. oh well.
I was so excited about your package on bi polar and addictions that I may have ordered twice, because I recieved 2 of the same orders. I will return one with a note, ok?
I am looking forward to reading it and listening to the cd. I am having a real battle with my addiction becuase I self medicate with street drug and it just seems to work so much better than the darn phych drugs. I feel normal, I don’t have the terrible mood swings and less episodes. I don’t need to take my meds and I feel ok.
But, I know I need to get some help. I am currently on a waiting list at a very good rehab center here in town. I pray it works.
