Sometimes I think the more I push the more they want to pull away. The hardest thing is to let them fall. Don’t feel guilty or upset when you do this. Your doing it for their own good. I’ve had to call the police on my own children to help me get them contained. At first the police thought they were on something LOL. I told them no they don’t use they are in a bipolar rage state. They will eventually come out. They do and feel bad when they do. I’m not sure if you have experienced that. But working with the police department is also very helpful. They can help restrain them withouth anyone getting hurt. The police department here now knows from experience that when I’m calling it’s for help to just contain them and work from there. Either, crises response or the hospital or they leave them there at home. It all depends. So don’t ever feel alone. Get them to help you. Secondly, she may not be talking in counceling or being defient towards the help. This is normal for any teenager and especially one that doesn’t know how to deal with their intermost feelings. Or rather express them correctly. Arguing believe me gets everyone nowhere fast. You might want to try a different approach. Without reminding that it’s court order. You want her to feel like she is doing this for herself. Sometimes it helps even if it is hard to step back and just be there when she falls. If at all his depression or his inability to handle situations become so extreme that the court will then order this medication and order more hospitalizations so on.
