Why A Home Business For Bipolar Disorder

Hi,

I just wanted to drop a quick note about something.

I sent out a notice about my 161 ways to make money from home if you are dealing with bipolar disorder.

I wanted to talk about three other reasons to start a home business other than the obvious one.

1. Health insurance (in many cases, by having a h.ome business you can save money on health i.nsurance. Plus if you work with an accountant, he/she can help you write off some medical costs. NOTE I am not an accountant and not offering financial advice. I am telling you, you should strongly consider going to the library and looking up this information OR talking to an accountant. If you think they are expensive, they really aren’t. Most will talk to you intially for free. Just call 10 in your local area and they will tell you about health insurance and h.ome
businesses.
2. You could save money on taxes. Again, I am NOT an accountant. You should do some research in this area concerning h.ome businesses. Check around. You’ll be happy with what you find. Again, I am NOT offering financial advice.

3. If you have bipolar disorder, a home business is a great way to add to your income especially if you are on disabilty. If you are a bipolar supporter, it’s a great way to add to your i.ncome to help support your loved one (generate money for things like doctor and therapist visits, etc.).

There are a ton of advantages. I am a HUGE believier in working for yourself. I just wanted to pass this along to you.

Bipolar Email – Loser Attitude or Sad Story?

Hi,

Hope you’re having a good day.

I got an email that said:

“David-

I am sick and tired of you people saying  bipolar disorder is so easy to manage. You don’t understand. We try to manage it and you mock us. We can’t get jobs. We can’t handle money. We can’t help ourselves. The government doesn’t help. No one cares. You people don’tunderstand.”

—————————————————

Now, I ask you, is this a loser attitude, or is this just a sad story?

Either way, I want to respond to it, line by line, because I feel like I have a responsibility to (and I need to defend myself and the people who work for me).

She says she is sick and tired of “you people” saying bipolar disorder is so easy to manage.

When have I EVER said that? I talk about how HARD it is to manage, as far as I know. That’s why I write all these emails! I try so hard to teach supporters how to help their loved ones how to manage their bipolar disorder.

In my courses/systems I try very hard to teach people how to manage their bipolar disorder, and these materials are HUNDREDS of pages long!

I have even more courses and materials than these, even, to try to help people with bipolar disorder and their supporters to  manage their bipolar disorder. I KNOW how hard it is to manage the disorder, because I’m a supporter myself and I watched my mother go through it (still go through it).

Then she says I don’t understand. Oh, how well I do understand. I get hundreds and hundreds of responses to these emails. And I have over 5,000 testimonials about my courses and materials about bipolar disorder. If I didn’t understand, why would

all these people thank me for understanding?

What about her line about, “We try to manage it and you mock us.”? Where is THAT coming from? Have you EVER heard me say anything that is mocking?

Sometimes I might say something in my emails that is humorous, but as one of my people who works for me that has bipolar disorder says, “Sometimes if you don’t laugh about it, you’ll cry.”

But mocking? No. I think bipolar disorder is a VERY serious disorder. I talk about that all the time.

“We can’t get jobs,” she says. Then what about all the people who work for me? They got jobs. And what about all the people who bought my material on getting jobs even though you have bipolar disorder? That one is a BIG seller! Those people have gotten jobs, too.

Just because you have bipolar disorder doesn’t mean you can’t work. Many people who have the disorder have even started their own home businesses. Another one of my materials is about just that – starting your own home business, and that is another one that a lot of people buy, and they do very well. They don’t let their bipolar disorder stop them.

“We can’t handle money.” Well, that may be true. Many people with bipolar disorder can’t handle money. But they have supporters who can. In my courses/materials I do go into that as well. And I have talked about it in my emails, too. So there is a solution for that.

Yes, one of the symptoms of bipolar disorder is excessive spending. But bipolar medication does help with that, too. So maybe this woman is just off her medication?

“We can’t help ourselves.” Well, I’m sorry, but I strongly disagree. I have just known too many people with bipolar disorder who HAVE been able to help themselves.

“The government doesn’t help.” I’ve tried and tried to tell people that you can’t live on disability alone. You have to supplement your income somehow. But I also know a woman on SSDI who says she is not too proud to take charity or go to food banks to feed her kids. She says she does whatever she has to.

“No one cares. You people don’t understand.” I guess I would leave that for you to answer. Do you agree with her? Do you think I don’t care? Do you think I don’t understand?

Because by now I am frustrated with this woman and her email.

Because I have so many people who work for me who have bipolar disorder, and they are some of the most creative,  ard-working, problem-solvers, and productive, stable people I have ever known. They are not like this woman at all.

I told one of the people who works for me about this email, because at first I felt sorry for this woman. I thought her story was so sad.

This is what my employee told me:

“When I was first diagnosed, I felt sorry for myself, and I told my girlfriend my problems. She told me, “You’re not on a pity-pot, you’re in a pity-bathtub!”

In other words, she didn’t get any sympathy from her girlfriend. She was practically told that she had a loser attitude, not that she had a sad story. So that’s what I’m asking you. I’m done defending myself. Do you think this woman has a loser attitude

or a sad story?

What do you think?

Bipolar or Not, Don’t Forget These Lists!

Hi,

Hope you’re doing good today.

I wanted to give you a few updates.

First, I owe a number of people return phone calls and emails in reference to various things related to bipolar disorder. I am sorry that I have not gotten back to you. I will by the end of the week. I have just been so busy.

Secondly, I will be hiring one administrative person that will work across this organization and another business that I have. This will bea great job for someone with bipolar disorder (yes, I hire people with bipolar disorder, I have 12 or 14 that work for me already).

Thirdly, there has been a great debate on whether or not you should have children ifyou have bipolar disorder. I actually was debating this last night until 1:00am. I think that I won. You know what I got? No sleep as my reward lol. I am going to be putting out a f.ree special report on this.

Okay, let’s jump into today’s topic.  I know so many people who don’t get anything done every day, and when you get done with this email, hopefully, you won’t be one of them!

But I was talking to this woman at the gym and she said she has a million kids.

I said, “Wow, you must be a million years old,

She didn’t think that was very funny.

She told me she can never get anything done for her business, so I asked her if she had a list.

She said, “Umm…no.”

Lists are the key. If you don’t know where you want to go, how are you going to get there? And if you don’t know what you want to get done, how are you going to get anything accomplished?

Here some lists, by category, that I would suggest:

To that woman with children, I would suggest this

list:

· School’s name, address, phone number

· School calendar events

· Her childrens’ birthdays

For her business:

· Contacts list

· Call back list

· Follow-up list

· Networking list

For people with bipolar disorder:

· List of medications

· When to take them

· Doctors’ names, addresses, ph. #’s

· Doctors’ appointments

Personal lists:

· Long-term goals

· Short-term goals

· To-Do lists

· Daily To-Do lists

· Shopping/Grocery lists

· Bucket List (from the movie)

· List of things you want from life

· Places you’d like to visit

· Book list of books you want to read

· List of DVD’s/CD’s you want

· Garage Sale list (of what you’re looking for)

· Gratitude List

· Prayer List

· List of friend’s/family’s names, addresses,

Phone numbers, cell numbers, email addresses

Birthdays, anniversaries

· List of important events

I teach about To-Do Lists, and how important they are when it comes to bipolar disorder. If you have something to wake up for every day, it will help keep down those episodes. In life, if you have lists, it will help you to bemore organized. It also gives you something to look forward to.

Dealing with Bipolar and want to start h.ome b.usiness?

Hi,

I have had a ton of people write me recently about h.ome businesses and which ones to start. Why? Well bipolar supporters want to make extra money. People with bipolar disorder want to make extra money. Since I started this, I have helped a bunch of people get started in really cool businesses.

If you have been on my list for a while, you might remember the plant watching woman. She started a b.usiness watching people’s plants. Anyway, there are lots of options.

I am not sure if you know it but I have something that relates to this. It’s called 161 ways to make m.oney
at home.

I am also offering the first 50 people the chance to get on a call where I answer questions related to starting a h.ome business or internet b.usiness. If you have any interest, take a look at this page

The REAL Bipolar Conspiracy

Hi,

How’s it going?

Yesterday I wrote a daily email about lying and bipolar disorder. I talked about how many times people with bipolar disorder don’t remember what they said or did because they are in episodes.

AND, they are not doing it on purpose. That’s a big difference.

I personally have so many people TRY to lie to me in a given week it’s amazing.

You might not realize this, but in order for you to have found my site, I had to buy advertising. You buy advertising from advertising companies. These people lie all the time. It’s amazing.

The difference between them and the person who has bipolar disorder who lies in an episode is they do it on purpose to con people.

I just had a guy that lied to me for about 8 months about some stuff and he basically stole money from me.

He did it totally on purpose. Anyway I just wanted to talk so more about bipolar disorder and lying. Remember the person that doesn’t lie on purpose and doesn’t know what they are saying and doing is WAY DIFFERENT then the person who lies and knows exactly what they are doing.

Anyway, I hope you’re having a good day.

Today I also want to talk about:

The REAL Bipolar Conspiracy

Many people think that there is a conspiracy by big drug companies to sell people with bipolar disorder lots of drugs and make lots of money off them.

People have said these things about me:

  • · That I am a big drug company myself (when they say this I wonder if they mean that I am a building instead of a person?)
  • · That I am a tool of the big drug companies
  • · That I am an owner of a big drug company (I wish – I’d be rich! LOL)
  • · That I love drug companies because someone in my family is the owner of a drug company
  • · That I have billions (that’s the term several of people have used) of dollars in drug company stocks

All because I promote that people with bipolar disorder should take their medications.

In my courses/systems below, yes, I do promote that.

SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?

http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?

I DON”T promote big drug companies.

I DO promote people with bipolar disorder staying on their medication. I even quote the statistics of people who go off their medication and what happens to them. And it isn’t pretty, But it’s the truth.

Here’s the REAL bipolar conspiracy:

Drug companies do not work hard enough, and I repeat, do NOT work hard enough, to sell people on taking their bipolar medication.

That’s because they don’t advertise bipolar medication. It doesn’t make them enough money.

It’s sad, but true. I wish they would spend billions running ads on TV that talked about people who died from stopping their medication. They should show these peoples’ family and friends.

They should show homeless people that once were not homeless but now are because they got off their medication.

They should advertise the statistics of people who die from not taking their medication.

They should show all this to keep people ON their medication. They should just try harder.

But they don’t.

They focus on drugs that make you have sex longer.

They focus on drugs that make you stop going to the bathroom. They focus on drugs that help your bones.

They don’t focus on drugs that will help your mental health though, do they?

Oh, wait – I just saw a commercial the other day for depression. But that was only one commercial.

And we all know that depression is only ONE part of bipolar disorder.

They were advertising for a new drug for depression, not a drug for bipolar disorder.

WHY NOT?

What do you think?

Lying and Bipolar Disorder

Hi,

How is your day going? I hope well.

Today I’m going to talk about a sensitive topic for supporters of loved ones with bipolar disorder.

It has to do with LYING.

Most supporters won’t talk about it at their support groups or with family because they’re either confused by it or possibly ashamed by it. But, still, it does happen when you’re dealing with a loved one who has bipolar disorder.

It’s really hard dealing with the lying part of bipolar disorder. No one knows why a person with the disorder lies, but it happens when they’re not stable, when there are problems with their medication and/or they go off their medication, or they are in an episode.

Here’s what I’m talking about:

Say your loved one goes into an episode. They say some horrible things to you, but when they come out of the episode, they swear they never said those things to you.

Now you know they did, you truly know they did, because YOU are not the one with bipolar disorder, and you know what you heard. There is nothing wrong with your memory. You are still hurt and smarting from the horrible words that your loved one said.

You may even still feel angry and resentful, if the truth be told.

But still, your loved one swears they never said those things to you. Are they lying? Are they?

Or worse – what if they were angry or even abusive during their episode and did things to you? But now they deny that they ever did those things? Are they lying?

Here’s a true story:

There was a woman who, while she was in a manic episode, she got violent. She screamed horrible things to her husband.

She threatened him with a box cutter. She actually told him that he better not go to sleep that night, because if he did, she would slit his throat that night in his sleep. He stayed up all night.

Horrible, isn’t it?

Well, the story gets worse.

The next day, she threw herself through a plate glass door, then called the police, claiming that her husband did it and had him arrested for spousal abuse!

When her husband came home from jail, she denied any of this had ever happened! Was she lying?

I discuss lying and bipolar disorder in my courses/systems below:

SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarsupporter.com/report11

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?
Visit:
http://www.survivebipolar.net
But here’s part of what I teach:

When some people with bipolar disorder go into an episode, they are not aware of what they say and do.

So when they come out of the episode, and you confront them with these things, THEY ARE NOT LYING when they deny them. They really do not have any memory of saying or doing those things!

I know, it’s a harsh reality. But it’s true.

If you don’t believe me, ask your loved one’s doctor or therapist. They’ll tell you the same thing.

This is so very difficult for supporters to deal with, because you are the ones who have to go through this. Sometimes it doesn’t help to know that your loved one isn’t lying. It doesn’t help the pain, emotionally and/or physically.

You still feel hurt, angry, resentful, and other negative emotions. You are expected to forgive them, just because they don’t remember.

And what about those things they said and did to other people? How do you explain them? It’s hard, and embarrassing.

And you don’t feel it should be your responsibility to have to do the explaining. And you know what?

It’s not! One of the things your loved one should be learning in therapy is to take responsibility for their own behavior and what they do/say when they’re in an episode. That includes what they say/do to you and to other people.

Their behavior is NOT your fault! You did NOTHING to deserve it. You need to remember that.

How Bipolar Supporters Get In Real Trouble

Hi,

How’s it going?

I wanted to drop you a quick note about something. I was just on the phone with someone who has a loved one with bipolar disorder and she is finally stable.

It’s his wife. She is finally stable after several months. This person was really happy and was like, “wow, thanks David, all the hard part is done.”

I warned him about what I call the Bipolar Doomsday Scenario.

For a Bipolar Supporter, the Bipolar Doomsday Scenario, is super destructive.

How do I know? Well I experience it myself.

I don’t mean to be dramatic but it’s really bad.

Bipolar: You Deserve Happiness Too!

Hey,

How’s it going?

Today’s subject is about how you deserve your own happiness too, and you shouldn’t have to put it aside just because your loved one has bipolar disorder.

DON’T!

You spend a lot of time as a supporter, and one of the problems with that when you’re dealing with bipolar disorder is that you can get caught up in your loved one’s struggle with their own management of the disorder and your helping hem with it.

DON’T!

They may have a problem with their mood swings and their own happiness because of it, but you should not let this affect your own happiness, as hard as this might be, just because of being their supporter.

You should still do things that make you happy, like:

· Hobbies

· Doing things you enjoy

· Doing things that make you feel good

· Taking care of your own needs

· Going out with friends

· Going to the movies

· Reading

· Watching videos that your loved one

may not want to watch with you

· Doing things by yourself

· Going shopping

· Spending time with your own family

· Spending time away from your loved one

· Taking a break from your loved one

· Taking a mini-vacation from your loved one

· Having a job outside the home

Just being around your loved one 24/7 will not help you and your own mental health at all – you may get so caught up in their world of bipolar disorder that you might become as sick as they are! DON’T!

You have a right to your own happiness. Don’t delay that happiness! You really need to keep a life separate

from your loved one, for your own sake. You have to hold onto your own happiness!

Grab it right now!

Take some time for R and R (rest and relaxation). Even combat soldiers do that! Don’t stress yourself out by giving all your energy to your loved one – save some for yourself as well.

Giving all your time and energy to your loved one will make you stressed out and sick. And you don’t want that, do you?

DON’T!

Also, don’t try to be your loved one’s therapist. They should have their own therapist. They should be telling their therapist their problems, and not dumping them on you or taking out their problems on you, just because you are there!

Because your loved one has bipolar disorder, they may get depressed and may try to “take you down” with them when they are in that phase of their disorder. They may want to use you as a shoulder to cry on, which might steal your own happiness. Remember, don’t act like their therapist.

DON’T!

Again, you should not be their enabler, either, or that will steal your own happiness as well. You should not be doing things for them that they can do for themselves.

That’s one of the rules I’ve taught you as a supporter in my courses/systems below:

SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?

Visit:

http://www.bipolarsupporter.com/report11

SUPPORTING A CHILD/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?

Visit:

http://www.bipolarparenting.com

HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?

Visit:

http://www.survivebipolar.net

So don’t be your loved one’s enabler, or you will be robbing yourself of your own happiness.

DON’T!

You deserve a life of your own. You deserve to be happy. You deserve an identity of your own outside your relationship with your loved one with bipolar disorder .

Don’t get so caught up in their disorder and their problems that you lose yourself in it/them.

DON’T!

Don’t delay your own happiness. Take charge of it beginning right now!

Don’t let bipolar disorder steal your happiness!

DON’T!

Shocking Bipolar Attack on Me and My Work

Hi,

How’s it going?

Hope you’re doing all right.

I got this shocking attack the other day sent to me.

It said:

“David- Skip here. I have followed our emails for a few months now. I am here to tell you, you need to stop making promises to people who are severely ill. You act as if bipolar disorder is not a serious disorder. You are giving false hope to many who have no hope. Shame on you. I would doubt that you even have a mother. It’s wrong of you to mislead people with bipolar two think they can be normal.”

———————————————————

This email really annoys me.

1. I don’t mislead people. I offer hope and instruction.

2. Sir, people can be normal with bipolar disorder. And what’s normal anyway? Normal just means stable. And people With bipolar disorder can become stable. Maybe YOU aren’t normal. Maybe YOU aren’t stable.

3. I do have a mother. I have to have a mother if I am real. How else would I be born, sir? Yes, my mother is very real and, in fact, works for me, because she does really exist, does really have bipolar disorder, and is really stable.

4. You obviously don’t follow my emails too closely because I say all the time bipolar disorder is a serious disorder.

5. I write materials to educate people on how important it is to be knowledgeable on how very serious this disorder really is.

6. I learned the hard way, and it sounds like you have too, sir, just how serious a disorder this is.

7. Ask any one of the many people who work for me who have bipolar disorder how serious I think the disorder is.

8. I don’t make any promises. No one should. Not about something this serious. In fact, I do the opposite. I warn people that anyone who tells you that they have a “cure” for the disorder is lying to you.

9. I give hope. I don’t give false hope, but I give hope. Because sometimes hope is all these people have. There was a point that hope was all I have, so I know how they feel. Maybe it’s you that doesn’t have any hope. If that’s true, I feel sorry for you.

10. You need to read even more of my emails. I am an honest man. I have never tried to misrepresent myself or my materials or my work. I just try to help people learn about bipolar disorder  nd to help supporters learn how to help their loved ones.

That’s all.

That’s what I teach In my courses/systems below:
