I just found out that Medicare guidelines prohibit people with bipolar disorder from benefits related to weith loss surgery. I was shocked. They will take people with many other chronic conditions but single out those with mental problems. Weight loss surgery could be a significant benefit for me but I was told NO.
The article about a woman with several disorders having a service dog is particularly interesting. I know that pets are great companions and help to relieve stress. A dog who can recognise panic attacks and oncoming episodes by watching someone’s body language is truly amazing.
