David Oliver is the author of the shocking guide “Bipolar Disorder—The REAL Silent Killer.” Click Here to get FREE Information sent via email on how and why bipolar disorder kills.

  1. I have a question. Does bi-polar worsen with age? The man I am dating is 65 and he has done great for the last 2 years since the Dr. has him on the right medications.

  2. Dear Dave,

Thank you for your new letters everyday; I’ve come to better understand bipolar disorder. My husband still lives in denial. I do love him, but I can’t continue to live with him.

He was so upset when I moved out, and now he wants a divorce and he’s already seeing someone else. Should I give this to him?

  3. Debbie
I have read that BP only worsens with age if it is not treated appropriately. Otherwise, I am told, it can be stabilised and deterioration avoided. HOWEVER, I am not a doctor and I am only relating to you what I have read and heard from some professionals in this field. For example, a TV programme about Stephen Fry (famous TV personality, actor and writer in the UK) and his Bipolar, showed a pDoc saying this and the tests he undertook with Stephen showed Stephen’s BP had deteriorated. Note Stephen has chosen not to receive medication for his Type 2 BP. He has made this choice because he feels his essential creativity (essential because this gives him the fuel for what he does to make a living) comes ONLY from his hypomanic periods. He fears that treatment would stop them and he’d lose his creative edge.

  4. Thanks Dave for the little courses you sent me. I really appreciate what you are doing for the bipolar supporters. I really look forward everyday to read all the suggestions and help you give me. I cant wait to continue reading them everyday. May God bless you and help you always.

  5. I have had symtoms of depression for about 20 years now. I have been recieving treatment for it for about 10 years. I am 56. Over the last 3 years I have started to wonder if I also have a form of bipolar too. My 27 year old son was diagnosed with bipolar this summer after an emergency hospialization after his first manic episode which was brought on from extreme stress in his 2 yr. marriage and their life style choice to live in a very primitive cabin in Northern Minn. (No indoor plumbing, only wood stove for heat and limited solar power for electricity even in the below zero winters ). The information I have recieved from you has been helpful in undersanding his symptoms and mine but also overwhelming at times. Recieving one e-mail a day is very helpful but when I recieve 2 to 3 it is overwhelming. It is too much too often then. May be some people need constant info but I am not one of them and keeping up with all the information you send makes me anxious and frustrated when I don’t have time to look at all of them. Maybe you can have a email one time a day to people like me who would like a summary of important information you have to offer and more to those who want more. Send out a questionaire to find how others feel and how often they would like to recieve info, then put people in two separate e-mail groups. This is my opinion anyway.
