Bipolar Disorder Lesson: Have you ever tried this?

Hi,

I have to be really quick. I have to be
at my seminar at 8:30am and I am going
to be late. I am in New York City and
have to make sure I get to the place
on time.

Really quick, I get a lot of emails from people that say
they need help and don’t know what to do.

I sometimes wonder if people really know
what problems they truly have and what
are the most pressing.

Many times when I get on the phone with
people who fill out my f.ree consultation
certificates for non medical and non
legal questions because I am NOT a doctor,
therapist, lawyer, insurance agent, dentist
so on and so forth :), I ask “what’s
your biggest problem?”

Normally I get a undefined problem,
or someone says “everything.” Rarely
do I get a complete carefully
thought out list. This is a big
problem.

I am going to encourage you today
if you have bipolar disorder or if
you are support a loved one to do
the following.

Make a complete list of all
your problems and be as specific
as possible. Put it on a blank
sheet of paper one after another.

One of these reasons I think people
like my courses/and systems is because
it solves a lot of problems in a
systematic way.

They’re not a long
boring sad story that’s doesn’t
have any direct solutions to
problems. Generally when
you are looking at my books
on bipolar disorder, they fall
way short on practical solutions
to the most common problems.

This is what I have seen. You
may feel different.

Anyway, I have to take off now.
Tomorrow I will tell you
about step two and how to get
faster answers to your problems
using a simple technique I learned
from a man from Italy.

Until have a great day and I have
to head off to my seminar.

I have to go or I’ll be late.

Your Friend,

Dave

  1. if there is real help and it does not cost i would like to receive it. i have bipolar and borderline personality disorder. i have very little income while i fight for disability. my 12 year old girl is being checked for the same thing. i have 3 other girls that are younger and i hope they7 do not have the same things as me and their older sister. thank you …lisa

  2. We just had a baby, my new partner started being violent and obsessive. I called the police. He has been diagnosed with Bipolar.
I am scared to live with him, will he hit me again?
I love him soo much, but have gone through hell, I dont know if I can support him? How do you help someone you’re mad at, how do you get past it? Trying hard to believe he couldnt control himself. Who hits the woman you love? Im tramatized, Im feeling hopeless and very alone. I enjoy reading your blogs and think I should take your course on how to support someone with bipolar. But then part of me says run for your life! He insists that I have it too! He diagnoses everyone, Im feeling so out of it, I sometimes feel manic myself. Divorce and abuse will do that I suppose.
I miss him when hes not here, but then he drives me crazy when Im with him. Im soo tired and exhausted. I have 4 kids and have just gone through a divorce. What a mess Im in! At least Im not bending on the “get your own place” rule. I need him to have his own place when hes angry. As much a this takes away support for me, I need to protect myself. My life has just taken a unexpected turn. I feel like my partner died, like some monster has taken over. He is on Valporic Acid? Is that all he needs? Im not sure about anything.

  3. What do you do for an adult child (43) who has/is destroying her children, mother with her bipolar and drug disorder and WILL NOT seek help. She cannot manage money, maintain a job, maintain a relationship with those that love her and her “friends” are the low lifes of the world (I think this makes her feel superior to them.) She is smart, attractive, but I swear I think she has not progressed emotionally past age 15 or so. I have her Son (8) living with me and am trying my best to keep him away from her emotions and to give him the best calm life that I can.

  4. I read you email from today and curious as to where you obtain the free consultation forms. My questions are easy: how do you convince someone they need to see a psychiatrist and this person feels strongly about being put in a stupor with drugs so they basically have no desire to do anything?

According to the DaVinci Method which you recommended on your web site and we bought the book (which is a must read) bi-polar can be brought on by the feeling of not fitting in and it is better to not be medicated. Your thoughts?

  5. I have ordered both of your books on Bipolar Disorder, one for the person with bipolar and one for the support persons, and have not yet received my books. It was approximately 3 wks ago they were ordered. I have a 30 yr old, 8 mos. pregnant daughter that has been diagnosed as bipolar. Seeing her MHMR therapist once a month is not enough. We, she and I, need more information & help. I am in the process of finding her another therapist that takes medicaid and will see her on a weekly basis, hopefully she and I together. I hope your books get here soon. I am on your e-mail daily list.
    Sincerely,
    Janet Fietz

  6. if you are not a doctor or a therapist how do i know you are the rigth person to help me or other people with bipolar disorder, i am concern about the fact that many people is listening to you and you don’t really know what are you saying, so please i want you to tell me where do you get your information from.

  7. Hi dave, my name is cecilia and i’m from new zealand, i’d like to thank you for stories on bi polar, thanks to and your mum i recognised that my mum displayed simialar traits, i took her to the doctors and we both agreed that she did displayed bi polar like behaviour, she is now on anti depressants and life has been so much better for her and our relationship, as we both have cancer mine(thyriod) my mums (breast). even other family members are starting to see the difference and want to come ova and “hang” with my mum!
thank you so much again and i look forward to your next email
    grateful kiwi
    Cecilia

  9. My 25 year old resists meds or an increased dose – he had been OK on 10mg of zyprexa but a relationship ended badly, he went off the zyprexa – may be back on the 10mg but does not seem to want to even consider an increase – which he needs. He is so close to being OK???
