Right now I am on hold with Sprint PCS. There is a woman on my list that says that I am
sending her text messages and “costing her so much money.” I have no idea who this woman
is.
Here is the situation. About a month ago, I started gettting an email from someone that
said I am not Jessica stop sending me text messages. I wrote the person back and asked
who she was or what she was referring to.
Eventually I found out that she was on my list under some name I could not find. She was screaming and yelling at me to stop sending her messages. I asked her for her name and she said it’s under someone else’s name and that it was my job to figure it out. I thought the name
was Jessica so I searched over 24,000 records for the jessicas. There aren’t that many. Know
had an email address that would send a text message. I then tried to use the email address the woman was writing me back in my search.
I couldn’t find a thing. I then had someone who works for me look. We couldn’t find out who this person was or how to stop sending her messages.
She claimed that I was sending her tons of messages and costin her a ton of money and that I was waking her up “all the time.” Which of course is not true.
Anyway, I called the woman and asked if she had any other names that might. She screamed and yelled at me.
So I had to let her go.
I didn’t hear from her for a while and now tonight I get emails saying that she is going to call the police on me for harrassment. I have no idea who this person is, how to take her off my list, etc.
I called her and she of course yelled at me and says I owe her money for all the text messages I sent her that she didn’t want?????
Anyway, I decided to a) call sprint tonight and see if someone could help me or b), simply call the police myself and see what they say to do. I have no idea which police department to even call because I don’t even know where the person is, what the person’s name is, etc. I know if I call and even say the word bipolar I am sure they are going to laugh at me and think I am crazy.
The sad part is, I don’t even know if this woman is wanting to get messages, wanting to waste my time, making this all up, etc.
I just don’t know.
Itt’s REALLY REALLY REALLY annoying. I have spent a ton of time searching for someone named Jessica to remove when such a person doesn’t even exist.
You might not know this but really doing all this stuff can be beyond frustrating. I have people write me all kinds of mean things which are annoying to read.
Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions on what I might do??? Nothing like hanging out on a Saturday night talking to Spring PCS customer service.

umm, Dave….I have bipolar and you just really confused me with this post. The whole thing is confusing and makes little sense to me. If this person wants you to stop sending text messages to her you would think she would be a little more helpful in figuring out what name she is under, that whole name thing is what confuses me. This lady sounds like she needs to chill. The info you provide is not available to us in any other venue that I know about. I appreciate getting the emails you send as I am bipolar and live alone now. I’ve been hospitalized 7 times in the past 3 years. My wife(we’re now legally separated) and all of my children won’t have any thing to do with me. I haven’t been able to work for over three years and I’ve tried to commit suicide two times. I have been blessed with a good psychiatrist who is very supportive and compassionate. I am sure that most of the people that receive your emails feel as I do. It is good to know that I’m not completely looney and that if I take my meds like I am supposed to, then I have a chance of surviving. Thanks – Kendall

It sounds to me that this lady is doing the harrassing to you. I hope you can get her to leave you along. It sounds to me that she has more than just Bipolar. I hope you will interview me for some kind of reseach, as you just will not beleive every thing that is wrong with me and how I even at times denial to my self all of the mental illnesses that is wrong with me. I cry out and want somebody to listen to my story and in hope that they can lead me or help to get me the right kind of help that I so need with these two types of mental illnesses. One being Biploar and the other is Schizothymia. Talk about a double doss. All of this is so hard for me to handle and I can’t even begin to understand why I am like this. After 10 years, you would like that I would be better but not. I feel that if you were to meet with me and hear my story, then with what you know about this illness and the people you know that you could get me the right help. My entire family is in denial about me. Could you or would you be willing to see me and see if you or somebody you know would try to help me? I want to get help and I just have not find the right doctor or the right meds. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Sounds to me that this woman is doing the harrassing to you. I hope that you can get her to stop. I hope that you would be willing to meet with me and here my story about my Bipolar and I also have schizophrenia. Talk about a doulbe doss. SInce you know a lot about Bipolar, I would hope that after 10 years of being this way that you could meet with me and maybe know somebody that would want to use me in a study. Taht by them studing me, maybe they would know the right doctor and the better meds for me to be on. I hate being this way and I just want help but can’t seem to get the right doctors after all these years. Since my family doesn’t think that I have mental illnesses, this is very hard on me. I hope that you will get back with me and can get me the help that I so very much need. I just don’t think I can go on living like this. Thanks!

To find clinical trials and studies, search the National Institute of Health (NIH)websites. You might also check the websites for Mayo Clinic (3 locations)and John Hopkins University. Search under endocrine and neurological testing, too, not just psychiatric testing, and you may find some current studies. Good luck. –cc
Hi Dave, Just read your new page and I can tell you are really annoyed with the whole situation. But, Please don’t give up all your hard dedicated work, as you are helping some many people, myself included. My suggestion is, maybe you could ring the telephone company, I know there must be quite a few in your country but I am sure there must have some kind of a security surveillance department for situations like this. No harm in trying. One thing I can’t understand though, if you are the one supposedly sending the messages, why is it costing this woman alot of money!!!

Hi Dave,
My Son is 19 and was diagnoised with drug addiction and bipolar and held against his will for 72 hours at the psyche ward a few weeks ago. My Son was smoking pot to help calm his manic state down until it became out of control. The doctor said he was in a manic state until they stabilized him with medication. My Son is in denial about the bipoalr and thinks he only had a drug addiction problem and as long as he stays off drugs he will be fine. Although, he is taking the meds the doctor prescribed and he knows he needs them. Maybe he just doesn’t want to talk about the fact that he has bipolar? I don’t know if I should talk to him about it in a gentle way, or what I should do? I have so much information I want to give him to help him but I am afraid he will be upset if I offer it. Do you have any advice on handling this properly? He has been to see a psychiatrist and was given a 500 question test to take. He is waiting for the results. I noticed someone mentioned a bipolar test you offer they gave their Nephew. Where can I get this test? I do believe my Son has bipolar and I hope he will realize it with time and help. The doctor said he was at a level of 1.5 (from 1 to 10), which was not bad if he does what he needs to do to manage it now. Any suggestions you or anyone might have is appreciated. One more thing, he is going to NA meetings and has a sponsor he likes very much. He says he will no longer smoke pot or do drugs anymore and that he knows drugs will ruin his life.
Sorry about the lady, she sounds like she may be enjoying this and she is in a manic state or schizophrenic. Otherwise she would help you solve the problem rationally. I had this same thing happen in Cape Town South Africa. I rented a cell phone and I use to get text messages from the street vedors telling me I could buy fruit at the local street fair. These text messages came at all hours of the night. I traced the number that came through on the text message through the cell phone rental company. I found out the vender had my number on his vendors list and it would be dialed automatically. I contacted the vendor and he was able to delete my number off his list. If this lady would give you her name and number you could easily do the same! The ball is in her court, she seems to like this game!

Good Morning again David, oh how completely frustrating for you to have someone as obnoxious and completely unhelpful as this blatantly lying to you. First off, if she is recieving text messages it is not costing her a cent, receipt of text messages is free. If she is complaining about emails all she has to do is block your email address. You have done all you can to look into the situation and try to remedy it but without her helping herself it cannot be done and the way she is handling this is far from helpful. You do not have to be abused at all, she needs to look into having this mess sorted out, not you and until she is willing to be helpful you cannot help her. She can take it to the police whom will contact you and she will have to then make amends to you for being completely unhelpful in helping herself to resolve this situation. Apart from that have no further contact with her until she shows you the respect you deserve to calmly sort this out.

to those of us who desperately need the info and advice that you send, please do not let this woman who seems to really need help get to you. Your site is a blessing to me. I am newly diagnosed bipolar with several other disorders to go along with it. I have put my family through hell the past 2 years and now that I am in a fragile stable state, I am so guilt ridden- all the dysfunction was coming from me! My family doesn’t feel this way and my therapist agrees with them, but I can’t help the way I feel. It is gonna be a long road. But at least we found the beginning of a road!
Anyway, my point is please, do not quit. WE NEED YOU. Thank You.

In Australia it only cost to send text/sms and it’s free to recieve them.

The best advice I can give is to ignore her. When she truly wants to resolve this matter, she will calm down and talk. I think she is in some way enjoying jerking your chain, and will feed off of her negativity as long as you allow it. Not speaking with her may force her to be rational and cooperative, and then you can sort this conundrum out. It is admirable that you have gone to such lengths in attempting to figure out who she is, but if she wont help, screw her.
