Hi,
Hope you’re having a good day.
Did you know there are TWO “YOU’s”?
Yep.
There’s the inner you and the outer you.
You don’t have to have bipolar disorder to have this apply to you – you can be a supporter as well. It actually applies to all of us.
There’s the you that you show to the world.
That’s the person you want everyone to see, and it has to do sometimes with wanting to be perfect, with wanting to please other people.
It’s not always a good thing.
But there are some good sides to your outer you.
It’s also your good qualities –
If you are a good, kind person, and you try to help people, for instance.
If you volunteer at your bipolar supporter’s group, for another example.
If you go to church and you’re involved there, that’s a good sign of a good outer you.
But some people don’t have a good outer “you.”
They treat people mean, they only think of themselves, they don’t treat people like they should, etc.
But I bet those people don’t have good attitudes, either.
I bet those people are very negative people.
In my courses/systems, I talk about something very important to good mental health – having a positive attitude versus having a negative attitude, and how what you do on the outside reflects what’s happening inside you.

Having a positive attitude is so very important to keeping your inner you healthy.
Your inner you is where you keep your self-esteem, your hopes and dreams and wishes, and your REAL self.
It’s the part that you don’t necessarily show the rest of the world, because it’s also where you keep your fears.
But with a positive attitude, you can also overcome those fears.
With a positive attitude, it makes it so much easier to deal with the day to day issues that come with being a supporter of a loved one with bipolar disorder.
And that isn’t always easy. You want to show a good outer you, but sometimes your inner you does get frustrated, hurt, and angry.
And that’s ok, because those are very real (and very common) feelings.
But you can keep those feelings in check by having a positive attitude.
So you see what I mean by having two you’s?
And how a positive attitude can balance the two?
You do need that balance in your life in order to maintain good healthy mental health, bipolar disorder or not.

You have no idea how this has hit home today. Along with my son’s bi-polar issues that I am working with every day, my brother started chemo and radiation today for a very rare form of cancer. Having to of “me”, an inner and an outer, is a major blessing in this case. If not, I would be a wreck and a completely not nice person to everyone at work and home. I have to keep a strong, happy, face to everyone. Yet, inside, I am falling apart. There is just so much going on that I cannot let it out. If I let it out at home, my son (the bi-polar) will get worried and upset, and that is the last thing I want him to do. So, instead, I keep it inside and let it out when I am away from home. Usually the ride to/from work, the store, or wherever I might be going. Thank you again for all your help Dave. You truly do help me get through the day.
David. It is my sister’s daughter who has bi-polar. I have saved all the daily info to give to my sister. However, now I want to stop the info from coming. It has been a big help. I am not well myself, and need to limit the emails that come to my home. Thank you for all you do and give. Sally Miller
I already did
Dave,Thank you so much for this email it couldn’t come at a better time because today I’m having a hard time staying positive I have been dealing with alot of negitive stuff and I know alot of it is just part of this illness he has but some times I just have a hard time showing the positive side when it seems that all I get back is a grumpy, grochy ,complaining, negitive attitude..but I do love him and its not always this way..
Thank you for being here for us.You are a God send for me and I know many others..
Dave Caemo Kills faster than Cancer.
A servey in the US found 85% of Oncologists would refuse Chaemo. The other 15% where sticking to propergander.
In the US a Dr. gets $599K per Treatment from the Drug Cartel, hence this crap is Pushed. Check it out.
2% of “Patients” in the US servive 5 Years after. How is that of use, when the “treatment ROBS them of ALL quality of Life?
Wake up, it is the same as BP “Treatment” Though BP was my GREAT GIFT, the psych. and her deceribating Chemicals, left me mearly with a Disorder, Medicaly induced Brain Damage.
Professors believe the Disorder (Brain Damage) is entirly Via Polypharmacy, IATROGENIC. THEIR ARE NO DRUG VIRGINS WITH THE DISORDER. QED!
AS I ALL MUST BE DRUGGED TO NEAR DEATH FOR A WEEK BEFORE “DIAGNOSIS.”
SEE “THE THAU EXPERIMENT.” It’s on You Tube. Go to the CCHR, if you WANT THE TRUTH. THEY TELL IT EXACTLY AS I LIVED IT.
SORRY THAT IS THE “THUD EXPERIMENT.”On You Tube.
Please Dave do us ALL a Favour and do some STUDY at the CCHR website, or go see them.Or perhaps you could do a stint in the “care” of those you champion, yes they will “Treat” anyone.
As you mearly spout propagander for psych. & Drug Cartells. & you prove daily to know Zip.OK you did read a WORk OF FICTION, was it the DSM? psych. proffs. denounce the DSM as FICTION. ALL FRAUD.
Disorders cannot be found in the Blood, or by looking @ the Brain….. Not in a Cadaver…
Yes we do tell psych.: “I was very unwell…Now I feel much better…”
If we do not do this, so as psych. can get it on Tape, we will NEVER be released, off “medication”…..
Hence we cannot win, we feed the Trade with our recordings of “praise” This is used as “Proof” the ROT assists. Therefore the trade remains to further RUIN our Lives & Families.
As their is NO other way out & ALL know this, we ALL tell it “we are much better now.” That is the Proof.
Who ever said damaging the Brain is benificial?
Was it “Dr.” Walter J Freeman? The Lobotomist. Or the…

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your helpful e-mails. My lady friend that has BPD has had some real lows lately, just yesterday, she was so high. It was wonderful that she was so very happy, the first time for ages. I know that she will come crashing down again soon. I spend about 2 hours with her on the phone yesterday just listening to her bubbling with joy and giving that joy an outlet, I shared it with her. I have invited her to come and stay with me a couple of days although doubt she will. Very soon, she will be low again.
What I have learned is to let my friend be high but share it, with me. The consequence is that she might share it in an inappropriate manner that she will regret later — I fear that.
Thanks for all your mails, they help.
Best wishes
James
