  1. I’ve just given a blood sample and answered many questions to one of Professor Nick Craddock’s reseachers, for his on-going research into Mood Disorders, specifically Bipolar Disorder. (It took over and hour!) Of course, I took the opportunity to question my questioner! This is what I found out:

The current thinking of the Mood Disorders Research Team led by Professor Craddock is that BP is probably cause by a mix of genetic AND environmental factors, the environmental side of it explaining why BP sometimes occurs where there is no previously known family history of it. (I didn’t know that it did.)

The Wellcome Trust Case Control Consortium research, of which Prof Craddock’s team took a major part found there are several genes linked to BP, not just one. This research has been developed further during their collaborative work with Harvard University in Boston AND is very encouraging: “These insights will pen new avenues for both clinical dagnosis and treatment and offer the real possibility that the experience of bipolar disorder will be very different for people in the future – early, prompt and accurate diagnosis leading to effective treatments that are personalised for the individual’s illness and have fewer side effects than current treatments.”

So, their current research hopes to find different genetic markers between the varying symptoms people with BP experience, each of which are not common to everyone.

Dunno about you but I find this not just fascinating but quite exciting, too.

  2. Dave;
If your always so busy, why bother telling us, employ another letter typer, nobody will know. Oh that’s right then you wont be able to say ha “ha ha ha i have a life.” Skiting?

AS if you type it anyway? So therefore It was George Troublya Bush, and John Howard answered my emails. Good One, then Santa is true too…..

You told me you had Paypal. How do I access it? I have gone back to the Book site, & still can’t find Paypal?

Can’t see why people waste there time & $9000+ per hour with a psychiatrist, when it’s universaly proven they only make us worse. It may well be as the organism is SOOO stupid. the MOST WORTHLESS waste of air on the Plannet & is paid to ruin our lives & families by removing our supierior Brain functions. With shithouse Drugs.

Yes since meeting the first unmentionable organism in 2000 I have had NO LIFE! Yes I’d be better off dead. BUT then they win! We can’t have them happy, they are NOT worthy!

Tell me how to access Paypal, and I won’t need to type.
    Troy.

  3. I am yet to meet an inteligent organism who has been to University.

It must be as it is Government run they dumb them down in the 4 to 1000 years there there. Surround yourself with fools….

There is no way the organisms I have met where more stupid on entry to Uni!
    It is not possible.

  4. Troy

The definition of an academic is of someone who learns more and more about less and less.

There is a great deal of difference between “intelligence” and “common sense”, just as their is a difference of both of them with academic achievement and also … wisdom.

But seriously, where would we be without universities, who produce the people that create the drugs we need, and the research into BP which may eventually offer us better treatment?
