Hi,<\/p>\n

I wanted to send out something about a huge mistake that bipolar supporters make.<\/p>\n

NOTE:
\nI put a “.” in the word m.edication to help this message not get filtered to your junk mail.<\/p>\n

I just don’t want you to think I am crazy : )<\/p>\n

Their loved ones don’t want to take m.edication and then start talking about all these bad things about m.edications.<\/p>\n

They talk about side effects and how the m.edication makes them feel bad.<\/p>\n

They talk about how the m.edication makes them feel “different,” or “not like themselves.”<\/p>\n

They may say they don’t want to take their m.edication because it will make them less creative and\/or less productive.<\/p>\n

Another typical reason for a loved one not to want to take their m.edication is that they “just forget” to take it.<\/p>\n

The biggest excuse, though, is the old, “I feel fine. I don’t need to take m.edication.”<\/p>\n

After a few days or weeks many bipolar supporters to start to cave in and start to go along with their loved ones, and say something like, “Well, maybe you’re right – maybe you don’t need to take m.edication.”<\/p>\n

Don’t fall for this!<\/p>\n

I am going to have to scare you because the statistics for those who don’t take m.edication for bipolar disorder are VERY SCARY!<\/p>\n

Now, I want to tell you ahead of time that I am NOT making this up. The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) says that 20% of people with bipolar disorder who don’t take m.edication for it, or go off their m.edication, will kill themselves.<\/p>\n

That’s 1 in 5 people!<\/p>\n

Remember, I told you, I am not making this up.<\/p>\n

NIMH is a national government organization!<\/p>\n

So, the bottom line is, don’t let your loved one with bipolar disorder convince you he\/she doesn’t need to take m.edication.<\/p>\n

It is true there could be some side effects from m.edications but the worst effect one could experience would be DEATH from NOT taking m.edication for bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n
