You’re going to think I am crazy.<\/p>\n
Before we get started, I am going to
\ntell you how I made a total fool out
\nof myself yesterday.<\/p>\n
Okay, so first let me tell you,
\nI have a friend that is totally into
\nfootball. I played football for 14 years
\nbut now I am retired so I am not into
\nlike I use to be.<\/p>\n
Anyway my friend totally is. He is
\nan Eagles fan. He loves the Eagles. Eagles
\nthis and Eagles that. It’s really kind of annoying.<\/p>\n
He has everything Eagles.<\/p>\n
He kept telling me for about a week that
\nthe Eagles should be in the Super Bowl (
\nthe Super Bowl is the championship
\ngame for football. The football where you
\nthrow the ball. Hey, don’t laugh at the people
\nthat don’t know. We have lots of international
\nreaders so I have to explain).<\/p>\n
Anyway, my friend kept saying it over and
\nover again. He then started telling me that
\nthe Eagles are kind of in the Super Bowl.<\/p>\n
I have no idea why. He was like, “doesn’t
\nit sound better to say the Eagles are in the Super
\nBowl then the Pittsburgh Steelers?”<\/p>\n
I was like, “whatever.”<\/p>\n
Just so you are clear the Eagles are NOT
\nin the Super Bowl. It’s the Steelers versus
\nthe Cardinals.<\/p>\n
So anyway I was at the bank yesterday. I
\nwas waiting around to talk to a bank person
\nand then lady was like, “hey who is your
\npick for Sunday?” (Sunday is the day of the
\ngame).<\/p>\n
I was like “the Eagles.”<\/p>\n
Seriously everyone started laughing at me.<\/p>\n
THE ENTIRE BANK. Women AND men.<\/p>\n
I didn’t know why. I felt kind of weird. I looked
\naround if there was someone else or something
\nelse that was funny. I was kind of in deep thought
\nseriously thinking about articles I was going to
\nwrite for bipolar anyway.<\/p>\n
So then I left the bank and when I was in the
\ngrocery store it just occurred to me that I said
\nI wanted a team to win that was not playing
\nand I made a total fool out of myself.<\/p>\n
I felt like driving back and explain this
\nentire story and then I was like, “who
\ncares if they think I am a moron.” lol.<\/p>\n
It’s all my friend’s fault. I called and yelled
\nat him. He said, “the reason why you said
\nEagles is because it sounds better.” He was
\nhappy. He is sick and is obsessed with the
\nEagles. He needs therapy of some kind.<\/p>\n
Okay this has nothing to do with bipolar
\nI just needed to tell someone.<\/p>\n
Let’s move on to today’s topic about
\nbipolar disorder.<\/p>\n
I have a really great idea for you today.<\/p>\n
Today is going to be the day that you
\nspend at least one hour describing what
\nyou want your life to be like.<\/p>\n
If you are a bipolar supporter, you should write
\ndown exactly what you want your life
\nto be like for yourself, and with the
\nperson you are supporting with
\nbipolar disorder.<\/p>\n
If you have bipolar disorder, you will
\nwrite what you want your life to be like for
\nyourself, and with your supporter.<\/p>\n
If you do this, you are much more likely to
\naccomplish your goal, because it is written
\ndown.<\/p>\n
In my courses\/systems below, I teach about
\nthe value of writing things down. I suggest
\njournaling your thoughts and feelings as a
\nway of recording them. I teach about writing
\ndown short- and long-term goals.<\/p>\n
