It still hurts today and on top if it, I have another cold.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I will be better soon but I am hanging in there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hey, so I got an email the other day:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8220;Dave, I don&#8217;t mean to complain, I really don&#8217;t.  I mean, I know my husband is sick and all, and I really do believe he has bipolar disorder.  It&#8217;s not that.  And I&#8217;m not jealous of the attention he gets.  I&#8217;m really not that kind of person.  And I don&#8217;t mind taking care of him. I love him.  It&#8217;s just that I&#8217;ve been doing it for such a long time, and I am really, really, tired. Really tired.  Like I said, I don&#8217;t mind being my husband&#8217;s supporter.  But Dave, let me ask you a question.  Who supports the supporter?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wow.  This woman sounds really stressed out, doesn&#8217;t she?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">But she raises a good question:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Who DOES support the bipolar supporter? You have to have support, because you can&#8217;t do it all yourself, it&#8217;s that simple.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So who supports the supporter?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For one thing, you do.  You support yourself. You have to take good care of yourself, or you won&#8217;t be able to take care of your loved one. You won&#8217;t have the strength or the energy.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This includes doing things that you enjoy, time away from your loved one, time spent with friends, family, having a job ( perhaps), having hobbies, etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You can&#8217;t spend every second with your loved one, and you can&#8217;t do things for your loved one that they can do for themselves (that&#8217;s called enabling).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Who else supports the supporter?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Your family.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You should have other people in your\/your loved one&#8217;s family who can &#8220;spell&#8221; you once in a while so that you don&#8217;t always have primary responsibility for your loved one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You do, sometimes, need time to yourself.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And they also should share some of the responsibility.  After all, he\/she is their family, too.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Who else supports the supporter?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Your friends.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Your friends should still be there for you, in spite of the fact that your loved one has bipolar disorder.  They are still your friends.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You should still have something of a social life.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Everyone needs friends, and you are no exception.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There should be fun in your life, and friends can help you do that!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They can also be there as a shoulder to cry on when you need it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Who else supports the supporter?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Co-workers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Whether they know that you have a loved one with bipolar disorder or not, it doesn&#8217;t matter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They should still be a part of your support system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Who else supports the supporter?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you are spiritual, you can go to a priest, minister, rabbi, etc. for spiritual support.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Join a church, and you can get plenty of support from other church members.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Who else supports the supporter?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The doctor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They aren&#8217;t just there for your loved one, but they are there for you as well, since you&#8217;re part of your loved one&#8217;s support system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Supporting you is part of helping your loved one to get better.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Who else supports the supporter?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The therapist.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If your loved one is following a good treatment plan, then they&#8217;re already seeing a therapist, but it might be a good idea for you to see one of your own, if you aren&#8217;t already doing so.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Then your therapist would be a good support for you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Who else supports the supporter?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The support group.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many supporters have found comfort and fellowship in bipolar supporter support groups.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If there is one in your area, you might be able to find support there.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If not, there are some very good support groups on the Internet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are also bipolar supporter chat groups and forums on the Internet where you can find support.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So who supports the supporter?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Plenty of people do.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You are NOT alone!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you are a bipolar supporter, besides me, who supports you?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">FIND OUT WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT ME<br \/>\nVisit: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bipolarcentral.com\/testimonials\">http:\/\/www.bipolarcentral.com\/testimonials<\/a><\/p>\n<p>David Oliver is the author of the shocking guide \u201cBipolar Disorder\u2014The REAL Silent Killer.\u201d  <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hypertracker.com\/go\/Post\/BP_Kills_BlogAd\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Click Here<\/span><\/a><\/strong> to get <strong>FREE Information<\/strong> sent via email on how and why bipolar disorder kills.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Hi,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">How&#8217;s your day going?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thanks for all those who asked about my back.
