I got a call on my <br \/>cell phone from someone that found<br \/>it on a note in a room somewhere<br \/>in Indiana. I have never been<br \/>there. I think people like giving<br \/>out my cell phone number:)<\/p>\n<p>The person said, &#8220;Hey is this<br \/>David Oliver?&#8221; I said &#8220;yes&#8221;,<br \/>the person said, &#8220;oh I know<br \/>you get a lot of calls, I just<br \/>wanted to see if this was really<br \/>you, have fun today.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then the person hung up. It was<br \/>kind of funny.<\/p>\n<p>Well today is Wednesday and it&#8217;s<br \/>the middle of the week. Close to<br \/>the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, I got an email from <br \/>someone that said the following:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;David, I am really down today. <br \/>I am not sure you will read this.<br \/>My Daughter who is 39 has<br \/>bipolar disorder and it&#8217;s a total<br \/>nightmare. She doesn&#8217;t think that<br \/>she has anything. She won&#8217;t take<br \/>medication. She doesn&#8217;t go to the<br \/>doctor. She has borrowed tons of<br \/>money. She has taken money from<br \/>us and used our c.redit cards&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>This has been going on for years.<br \/>I found your site and just ordered<br \/>your Bipolar Supporter Course <br \/>the other day but I must say I am <br \/>really down.<\/p>\n<p>I am depressed everyday. Ever since<br \/>she became bipolar, my wife and my<br \/>life has been turned up side down.<br \/>Nothing is going write for us. We<br \/>are going to go to the doctor because<br \/>we are so depressed. I need help and<br \/>I hope you can help us. We are worried<br \/>all the time. I only sleep a few hours.<br \/>I can&#8217;t wait to go through your course<br \/>when it gets here.&#8221;<br \/>-Frank<\/p>\n<p>=======================<\/p>\n<p>First let me say, Frank my heart<br \/>goes out to you. I know how tough it<br \/>is. I know what it feels like to feel<br \/>down because of a loved one&#8217;s bipolar<br \/>disorder is out of control.<\/p>\n<p>I am going to share one system that I use<br \/>when I am feeling down. It&#8217;s really simple<br \/>but it&#8217;s powerful.<\/p>\n<p>I call it the &#8220;what&#8217;s going well list.&#8221;<br \/>Many times when you are supporting a loved<br \/>one with bipolar disorder, things are <br \/>going really, really badly. <\/p>\n<p>Your loved one isn&#8217;t well, you can&#8217;t find<br \/>a doctor or therapist, there are lots of<br \/>de.bts that must be paid. <\/p>\n<p>You start spending tons of m.oney<br \/>to help your loved one. Friends get<br \/>mad you don&#8217;t&#8217; talk to them anymore.<br \/>Work pressure starts to increase.<br \/>You start to have more problems with<br \/>just about everything. If there was<br \/>a bad time for things to go wrong,<br \/>it&#8217;s this time and guess what? More<br \/>more and more things start going<br \/>wrong in your life.<\/p>\n<p>You start to feel that you loved one&#8217;s<br \/>bipolar disorder has almost made you<br \/>into a magnet for all kinds of problems.<\/p>\n<p>You  experience anxiety, worry,<br \/>guilt. It becomes hard to eat, sleep<br \/>and think. You start to get run<br \/>down. You either lose a ton of weight<br \/>or you gain a ton of weight from eating<br \/>lots of bad foods. You feel terrible.<\/p>\n<p>Does that sound like you? If so, I have<br \/>a technique for you.<\/p>\n<p>When you are feeling like this, one thing<br \/>you can do is make the what&#8217;s going well<br \/>list. <\/p>\n<p>What is this?<\/p>\n<p>Well this is a list of things that are going<br \/>well in your life.<\/p>\n<p>Actually, there is a person who filled<br \/>out my f.ree consultation in my courses below:<\/p>\n<p>SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?<br \/>Visit:<br \/>http:\/\/www.bipolarsupporter.com\/report11<\/p>\n<p>SUPPORTING A CHILD\/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?<br \/>Visit:<br \/>http:\/\/www.bipolarparenting.com<\/p>\n<p>HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?<br \/>Visit:<br \/>http:\/\/www.survivebipolar.net<\/p>\n<p>and was really down.<\/p>\n<p>I asked her if I could relay what<br \/>we talked about over the phone<br \/>but not use her name. She agreed.<\/p>\n<p>Okay so she was down. I told her<br \/>about the &#8220;what&#8217;s going well list&#8221;<br \/>concept.<\/p>\n<p>She said immediately NOTHING! <\/p>\n<p>She told me how bipolar disorder had<br \/>totally destroyed her life and nothing<br \/>was going well. And worst of all,<br \/>her son wasn&#8217;t totally stable yet.<\/p>\n<p>Before I asked her some questions, I reminded<br \/>her that I wasn&#8217;t a doctor, therapist, attorney<br \/>or any other kind of professional so she<br \/>was clear.<\/p>\n<p>Then we got to talking and I asked<br \/>her lots of questions. She has a lot<br \/>going well.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the things from my<br \/>notes:<\/p>\n<p>1. She is fairly healthy. <br \/> Many people are not healthy.<\/p>\n<p>2. She can think well<br \/> Many people can&#8217;t think.<\/p>\n<p>3. She has a car<br \/> Some people don&#8217;t have a car.<\/p>\n<p>4. She is able to take time off to help<br \/>her loved one with bipolar disorder.<br \/> Many don&#8217;t have the ability to do this.<\/p>\n<p>5. Her church is very supportive<br \/> This is another area of support<br \/>some don&#8217;t have.<\/p>\n<p>6. She found me and my information has<br \/>helped her<br \/> Millions of people sit at home<br \/>trying to help a loved one with bipolar<br \/>and do it all by themselves. They don&#8217;t<br \/>know people like me exist.<\/p>\n<p>7. She is still married and her husband<br \/>is supportive of all the efforts.<br \/> Many marriages end because of <br \/>bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n<p>8. She knows how to find a good doctor<br \/>by following my system in my bipolar<br \/>supporter course.<br \/> Tons of people can&#8217;t find a doctor<br \/>or therapist and don&#8217;t know how to keep<br \/>them on track.<\/p>\n<p>9. She knows how to find a good therapist<br \/>for the same reason above.<\/p>\n<p>10. She knows how to handle her de.bt from<br \/>her loved one.<br \/> Many people have de.bt because of bipolar<br \/>disorder and have no idea how to handle it.<\/p>\n<p>11.  She has people praying for her on<br \/>a daily basis<br \/> Not everyone has this going for them.<\/p>\n<p>12. She has a computer and knows how to <br \/>use it well and is keeping a journal<br \/>on her loved one.<br \/> I get calls from people all the time<br \/>who can&#8217;t use a computer to help a loved<br \/>one with bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n<p>13. She has another daughter who doesn&#8217;t<br \/>have bipolar disorder that recently had<br \/>a kid and everything is going well.<br \/> More great news.<\/p>\n<p>14. She has a dog and cat and she<br \/>loves them very much and they are healthy.<br \/> More great news.<\/p>\n<p>15. She feels the doctor really knows bipolar<br \/>disorder well and did contact her through<br \/>my doctor finding system. She also said<br \/>the doctor understood the deal with bipolar<br \/>disorder and how a person who is not well<br \/>can manipulate the system. <br \/> This is great. Many people have doctors<br \/>that do not understand this at all. This is<br \/>a major accomplishment to locate such a doctor.<\/p>\n<p>so on and so forth.<\/p>\n<p>I wrote a little comment under each entry<br \/>to help you see how she should see it and<br \/>why it&#8217;s positive.<\/p>\n<p>She came up with maybe 40 things that are<br \/>going okay to well. Afterwards, she felt<br \/>much better and less depressed.<\/p>\n<p>I told her to rewrite the list and read<br \/>it before bed and when she rises each morning.<\/p>\n<p>I also told her to keep a copy with her <br \/>and read it when she feels down from<br \/>bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n<p>She agreed.<\/p>\n<p>I also told her to add to the list as more<br \/>good things start to happen and to NOT<br \/>forget about the little things.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes we overlook the little things<br \/>which really turn into bigger things down<br \/>the road with bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n<p>Why does this happen?<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes when supporting someone<br \/>with bipolar disorder we get so close<br \/>and caught up with it, it starts to<br \/>cloud our vision and we start thinking<br \/>doom and gloom dark depressing thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>I have taken a whole lot of phone calls<br \/>from people over the years. TONS for<br \/>NON medical and non legal questions<br \/>because I am not a doctor, therapist<br \/>or lawyer. <\/p>\n<p>During that time, I have heard people<br \/>tell me that NOTHING is going right<br \/>and there is no hope. After they get done<br \/>with me, we together find lots of things<br \/>that are going well. <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a matter of just remembering them<br \/>and looking for them.<\/p>\n<p>I really like this technique and it&#8217;s one<br \/>of the things that kept me going through<br \/>those super difficult times.<\/p>\n<p>If anyone has tried this technique, please<br \/>post so others can read it.<\/p>\n<p>Your Friend,<\/p>\n<p>Dave<\/p>\n<p>P.S.
