Hey it<br \/>was kind of interesting. I got a lot of<br \/>emails from people yesterday saying how<br \/>I should appreciate the snow because they<br \/>have never seen snow only on tv.<\/p>\n<p>I guess you are right. I should appreciate<br \/>the snow. <\/p>\n<p>I actually live in an area with four seasons<br \/>winter, fall, summer and spring and I do<br \/>appreciate that.<\/p>\n<p>Actually there&#8217;s an important lesson for<br \/>bipolar disorder that I am going to be sharing<br \/>with everyone about where I live versus<br \/>where other people live.<\/p>\n<p>I am going to be posting some videos online.<br \/>I just don&#8217;t know how :). I am not good with<br \/>all this technology stuff.<\/p>\n<p>So, I have a friend who&#8217;s daughter&#8217;s boy friend<br \/>who is like 15 is going to teach it all to me.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s an important lesson here for bipolar<br \/>disorder. First, ask for help. Second, you<br \/>never know who can help you.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway I will be posting this in a few weeks<br \/>and will send an email.<\/p>\n<p>I am also starting a personal bipolar<br \/>coaching program because for like 2.5 years <br \/>people have been asking me over and over <br \/>again for one.<\/p>\n<p>I always said no because I didn&#8217;t have one<br \/>setup. Then someone asked me to call him<br \/>to talk about how I can set it up. I really<br \/>appreciate that so I am going to be setting<br \/>one up in like a week or so.<\/p>\n<p>I will send an email with the details.<\/p>\n<p>Okay let&#8217;s talk about today&#8217;s topic.<\/p>\n<p>Well, it&#8217;s almost Thanksgiving and<br \/>I wanted to talk about this interesting<br \/>conversation I had with a friend.<\/p>\n<p>IMPORTANT BIPOLAR LESSON COMING UP<\/p>\n<p>I have a friend that loves fortune<br \/>cookies.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the thing. He has a super strict<br \/>diet so he can NOT eat the future cookies<br \/>but he loves them.<\/p>\n<p>If you go get Chinese food with him,<br \/>he will only get chicken and will insist<br \/>you give him your fortune cookies. <br \/>It&#8217;s kind of annoying \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>But he never eats them.<\/p>\n<p>DON&#8217;T WORRY THERE&#8217;S A BIPOLAR LESSON COMING<\/p>\n<p>I finally asked him why the other day.<br \/>And he said and this is a quote, &#8220;Dude,<br \/>whenever I read the messages inside,<br \/>a lot of the stuff comes true.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I was like &#8220;what do you mean?&#8221; He said<br \/>that when he reads the messages inside<br \/>the cookies, that talk about how your<br \/>life is going to be, good things happen.<\/p>\n<p>I asked him to give me examples. He said<br \/>this one time it said, &#8220;Something great<br \/>is about to enter in your life so pay<br \/>attention.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said that he was excited because he needed<br \/>something great to enter his life and then<br \/>he wound up getting a new job, which allowed<br \/>him to afford all his nutrition supplements<br \/>for working out and he met a girl he is <br \/>dating. And he said &#8220;dude she is really good<br \/>looking and okay with me being really big.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He uses the word &#8220;dude.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said, &#8220;one cookie, three positive things.&#8221;<br \/>He told me how the cookies work.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not just him. Many people believe in<br \/>fortune cookies and other things like lucky<br \/>charms. <\/p>\n<p>Here is the important lesson on bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n<p>There are many old books and now new ones<br \/>that are saying these days, you can bring<br \/>into existence what you think about and focus<br \/>on.<\/p>\n<p>Now I don&#8217;t want to get way out in outer space<br \/>on you but I think it&#8217;s true. <\/p>\n<p>I think this is what is happening to my friend.<br \/>He reads something positive. Then he expects something<br \/>positive. Then something positive happens to<br \/>him. It becomes like a self fulfilling prophecy.<\/p>\n<p>The cookie because the thing that causes him<br \/>to start thinking positive. I would hate to see<br \/>if the cookies had negative messages because I think<br \/>if he saw a negative message, bad things would happen<br \/>because he would expect them to happen.<\/p>\n<p>Now let&#8217;s translate this into bipolar disorder.<br \/>Let&#8217;s look at success people with bipolar disorder:<\/p>\n<p>-They expect good things to happen<\/p>\n<p>-They expect themselves to have good and bad days<br \/>but the expect everything will be okay in the end<\/p>\n<p>-They expect that they can manage bipolar disorder<br \/>and be a success<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s look at success bipolar supporters:<\/p>\n<p>-They expect good things to happen with their loved one<\/p>\n<p>-They expect their loved one to have good and bad days<br \/>but have 100% confidence that the systems they setup<br \/>will be able to handle everything<\/p>\n<p>-They expect that their loved one can handle bipolar<br \/>disorder and handle it well. They have confidence<br \/>that bipolar disorder can be managed successful.<\/p>\n<p>In my courses and systems below, I talk about<br \/>all the key expectations from those who<br \/>are successful.<\/p>\n<p>SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?<br \/>Visit:<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bipolarsupporter.com\/report11\">http:\/\/www.bipolarsupporter.com\/report11<\/a><\/p>\n<p>SUPPORTING A CHILD\/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?<br \/>Visit:<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bipolarparenting.com\">http:\/\/www.bipolarparenting.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?<br \/>Visit:<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.survivebipolar.net\">http:\/\/www.survivebipolar.net<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now let&#8217;s look at those that fail<br \/>who are supporters and survivors<\/p>\n<p>The unsuccessful bipolar survivors<br \/>expect:<\/p>\n<p>-They expect bipolar disorder to be a nightmare<\/p>\n<p>-They expect to struggle for years<\/p>\n<p>-They expect people to not understand them<\/p>\n<p>-They expect people to discriminate against them<\/p>\n<p>-They expect that they can&#8217;t be successful<\/p>\n<p>-They expect that bipolar disorder will ruin the<br \/>rest of their lives<\/p>\n<p>-They expect they will never ever find the right<br \/>medication because &#8220;they tried all combinations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The unsuccessful bipolar supporters are negative as<br \/>well:<\/p>\n<p>-They expect their loved one to always be unstable<\/p>\n<p>-They expect that their loved one can&#8217;t be successful<\/p>\n<p>-They expect their loved one will struggle all the time<\/p>\n<p>-They expect that bipolar disorder can&#8217;t be beat or<br \/>managed<\/p>\n<p>-They expect they will never find a system to help<br \/>their loved one.<\/p>\n<p>-They expect that things will stay the same forever<\/p>\n<p>I believe that expectations play a major role in how<br \/>a person with bipolar disorder does or a bipolar<br \/>supporter.<\/p>\n<p>The negative people get negative results. The positive<br \/>people get positive results.<\/p>\n<p>I have seen this time and time again. I know people<br \/>with some of the worst combinations of disorders you<br \/>can think of. People with 5 or 8 diagnosis&#8217;s<br \/>and they do super well. But they expect they will.<\/p>\n<p>Let me say something. Well first let me remind <br \/>everyone that I am NOT a doctor, lawyer, therapist<br \/>and NOT offering medical, legal or professional <br \/>advice.<\/p>\n<p>Actually as a side note, someone asked me if<br \/>I cut hedges for a living. I do consulting<br \/>for HEDGE FUNDS (investment companies) but<br \/>I don&#8217;t cut Hedges \ud83d\ude42 LOL<\/p>\n<p>Okay, back to what I was saying.<\/p>\n<p>I really think that even the best medication,<br \/>the best doctor, the best therapist in the world<br \/>can&#8217;t overcome a bipolar survivor and bipolar supporter<br \/>that believe they are doomed forever because of<br \/>bipolar disorder.  <\/p>\n<p>I know people who have a ton going for them (they<br \/>have a great doctor, therapist, lots of money,<br \/>family support, etc) <br \/>and they expect they will do poorly. <\/p>\n<p>I know people who have everything going against<br \/>them (no friends, family support, money, house,<br \/>etc.) and they do well.<\/p>\n<p>Both people get what they expect.<\/p>\n<p>Remember the story of the fortune cookie when<br \/>you are &#8220;going negative.&#8221; Remember you get<br \/>what you expect.<\/p>\n<p>One last thing. If you know people who go<br \/>to fortune tellers. The same thing happens.<br \/>I am not saying whether I agree or disagree<br \/>with this service, if you can call it a service,<br \/>but I have friends that go and feel totally<br \/>empowered when a fortune teller says good<br \/>things are going to come to them soon.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s amazing to me. Actually many people<br \/>who work for me with bipolar disorder or another<br \/>mental illness tell me I was the first person<br \/>to say they are smart, great, creative and a<br \/>huge asset to any organization and capable of<br \/>amazing and great things.<\/p>\n<p>The reasons why I say these things is because<br \/>I believe them. Time and time again, when I have<br \/>had the most difficult problems, the ones no one<br \/>can solve, things that are complex, it&#8217;s always<br \/>someone who works for me with a mental illness<br \/>that solves it.<\/p>\n<p>I really believe that people with a mental illness<br \/>are everything I just said. As a result, I wind up<br \/>getting what I expect in my own company.<\/p>\n<p>Hey I just looked at the clock and I have to<br \/>go because I have interviews to do, I have to<br \/>go the library, map some stuff out, eat, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Catch you tomorrow.
