I am super happy for you. But,<br \/>please bare with me because there are thousands<br \/>of people on my list that are struggling<br \/>with bipolar disorder whether they are bipolar<br \/>supporters or bipolar survivors.<\/p>\n<p>So, if you are doing well, just read this for<br \/>future reference.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday I sent a daily bipolar disorder<br \/>email about a woman who had plumbing problems<br \/>and how she dealt with it. It&#8217;s a great bipolar<br \/>lesson. If you missed it, take a look at my blog<br \/>below to read it.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, right after I sent that email, I couldn&#8217;t<br \/>believe it.<\/p>\n<p>I seriously had like 8 problems of my own.<\/p>\n<p>It was amazing. Problem after problem came<br \/>my way. <\/p>\n<p>Then I looked in my email and saw a few people<br \/>that were local to me that were dealing with<br \/>bipolar disorder are having huge problems.<\/p>\n<p>One of my friend&#8217;s wife has bipolar disorder,<br \/>filed for divorce and is destroying him<br \/>legally (she got a huge inheritance and now<br \/>has hired a team of mean lawyers to make his<br \/>life a nightmare.)<\/p>\n<p>Then I checked my voicemail and someone<br \/>that&#8217;s one of my coaching clients left me<br \/>a message that his wife&#8217;s doctor has vanished<br \/>and his wife is going into a major bipolar<br \/>episode.<\/p>\n<p>I also have been noticing that people that<br \/>had huge problems with bipolar disorder, both<br \/>supporters and survivors, in 2005, and<br \/>who didn&#8217;t have them in 2006 now have them<br \/>today. I saw names of people rejoin my mailing<br \/>list or get some of my materials that I haven&#8217;t<br \/>seen in a long time. <\/p>\n<p>Again, so here I was. I had a ton of problems myself<br \/>and so did lots of people that I knew who were dealing<br \/>with bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, let me explain what my problems were so <br \/>you are clear. They were<br \/>all business related NOT related to bipolar<br \/>disorder. BUT they were big problems.<\/p>\n<p>I decided to actually pick up the phone and<br \/>check on my mom. I was thinking, &#8220;Geeze, the<br \/>worst thing would be if mom was not doing<br \/>well today that would be the worst because<br \/>I have all these other issues.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So I called and she sounded fine and was <br \/>actually doing great. I can tell within<br \/>a few minutes if she isn&#8217;t doing okay<br \/>but she sounded okay.<\/p>\n<p>She then told me what time to come over<br \/>for Christmas.<\/p>\n<p>I was relieved.<\/p>\n<p>This entire time, I was thinking, &#8220;well at<br \/>least she is doing great, it could be way<br \/>worse, she could be in a major bipolar<br \/>episode along with all these other issues<br \/>I have to deal with. But she wasn&#8217;t.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So I was sitting at my desk thinking, &#8220;I can&#8217;t<br \/>believe it&#8217;s Sunday and I have to deal with<br \/>all this. It&#8217;s not fair.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then I caught myself and said, &#8220;what a loser<br \/>attitude I have.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then I was like, &#8220;well you&#8217;re really tired<br \/>because you stayed up late last night, so<br \/>it&#8217;s okay to have a loser attitude for just<br \/>a few minutes. But only a few minutes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is seriously what I was thinking. Some<br \/>people ask me if I write is true. It is. But<br \/>when I write how I think, I run the risk of people<br \/>thinking I am out of my mind because I write<br \/>exactly what I think so that others can learn<br \/>from it and say, &#8220;hey, I think just like that<br \/>so I am not crazy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, after a few minutes of complaining<br \/>to myself and having a &#8220;loser attitude&#8221;, I<br \/>decided to take action.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll tell you what I did and how it relates<br \/>to bipolar disorder in a second.<\/p>\n<p>The first thing I did was get up, get something<br \/>to eat. Something light. I actually had a shake. <br \/>Like I always do. You can&#8217;t fight the good fight<br \/>on an empty stomach.<\/p>\n<p>Then I started to think to myself, &#8220;Today is going<br \/>to turn out fine, I&#8217;ve dealt with worse and I can<br \/>handle it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then I made a comprehensive list of all the problems<br \/>that I was facing and organized them in most important<br \/>to least important.  I then looked for problems that<br \/>didn&#8217;t require immediate attention and maybe would<br \/>work themselves out.<\/p>\n<p>Then I looked at each one and started to think<br \/>of a solution. I also contacted people who <br \/>worked for me for help coming up with a solution.<br \/>For problems with no immediate solution,<br \/>I skipped them and had faith that something<br \/>would happen that would fix or work it out.<\/p>\n<p>Then I took action and worked to implement the<br \/>solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Then I called the people that had problems that<br \/>were related to bipolar disorder and told them<br \/>how I handle problems. I worked with them to<br \/>brainstorm solutions. We did. <\/p>\n<p>It took several hours and it wasn&#8217;t the most<br \/>fun I have had on a Sunday but when it was all<br \/>said and done. I resolved most of my problems<br \/>and so did everyone who contacted me.<\/p>\n<p>Then I was thinking how many people on my list<br \/>have problems today with bipolar disorder and how<br \/>many will handle it in the following way:<\/p>\n<p>-get mad<br \/>-think it&#8217;s not fair (like I started to in my story <br \/>above)<br \/>-Not try to think of solutions<br \/>-Not take any actions on any potential solutions<br \/>-Give up<br \/>-Not ask for help<br \/>-Not seek out any information that can help<br \/>-Think there is no possible solution<\/p>\n<p>We use to think like that with my mom&#8217;s bipolar <br \/>disorder. Actually for many most of my life.<\/p>\n<p>But I am here to tell you, you can get through<br \/>even the worst of times when dealing with<br \/>bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n<p>Remember when it comes to bipolar disorder:<\/p>\n<p>No problems are really unique. Several people have said to <br \/>me, &#8220;I can&#8217;t believe how well your stuff<br \/>works.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Why? Well it&#8217;s because I use my own stuff. I had<br \/>to use it. Because I am really dealing with<br \/>bipolar disorder. My mom really has it.<br \/>And when it comes to the material on<br \/>bipolar disorder, it&#8217;s the result of a ton<br \/>of research and putting together solutions<br \/>based on how real people deal with real<br \/>issues that have bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n<p>I think however the number one most important<br \/>thing about dealing with bipolar disorder problems<br \/>is your attitude. I remember reading things<br \/>in books on success saying that attitude is <br \/>so important. I remember thinking that it was <br \/>such a lame thing to think. But these days,<br \/>I totally believe it.<\/p>\n<p>People with a positive, can do, it can be<br \/>fixed, it can be conquered, I can beat bipolar<br \/>disorder, wind up handling things and coming<br \/>out on top. People who have a horrible attitude<br \/>don&#8217;t. <\/p>\n<p>Now that I have so many people on my mailing list<br \/>and know so many people who are dealing with<br \/>bipolar disorder, I can honestly say this is the<br \/>case.<\/p>\n<p>Okay well I have to go. I actually still have<br \/>to get one more gift today and I have a bunch<br \/>of work to do.<\/p>\n<p>Catch you tomorrow morning on Christmas.
