Are you this kind of person?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi,<\/p>\n<p>How&#8217;s it going?<\/p>\n<p>I hope you are doing really well.<\/p>\n<p>I just got back from the gym and<br \/>was thinking about something.<\/p>\n<p>I heard an expression this week that<br \/>I thought was really neat:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Are you a sane person in a mad world<br \/>or a mad person in a sane world?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It made me wonder, because people<br \/>are always calling me crazy!<\/p>\n<p>But it&#8217;s almost like asking, what came<br \/>first, the chicken or the egg!<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sure many of you have been called<br \/>crazy just like me, haven&#8217;t you?<\/p>\n<p>People fear what they don&#8217;t understand,<br \/>and people do not understand bipolar<br \/>disorder. For that matter, people just<br \/>don\u2019t understand mental illness at all.<\/p>\n<p>I wonder if there will always be this<br \/>stigma associated with mental illness<br \/>or if people will someday learn enough<br \/>about it not to be so scared any more?<\/p>\n<p>Have any of you had this same battle?<\/p>\n<p>I had someone ask me once, &#8220;Am I<br \/>depressed or just more perceptive<br \/>and sensitive than those around me?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And that made me wonder. Because<br \/>you know I&#8217;m always talking about<br \/>how the people who work for me<br \/>have bipolar disorder and other<br \/>mental illnesses and I&#8217;m always<br \/>bragging how they seem to be<br \/>smarter, more creative, etc.<\/p>\n<p>And that just goes against what<br \/>&#8220;the norm&#8221; say about them.<\/p>\n<p>So, again I wonder, &#8220;Are you a sane<br \/>person in a mad world or a mad<br \/>person in a sane world?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s hard to draw the line sometimes,<br \/>you know?<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s like the expression, &#8220;Just because<br \/>you\u2019re paranoid doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019re<br \/>not out to get you!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not trying to make light of this<br \/>situation, really, I&#8217;m not. Maybe it will<br \/>help them, and maybe it won&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>But either way, I&#8217;m not going to<br \/>stop trying to educate them.<\/p>\n<p>What do you think?<\/p>\n<p>I have to head off to a meeting.
