It&#8217;s a gym<br \/>story. <\/p>\n<p>Someone asked if all I do is go to the<br \/>gym. No actually I don&#8217;t. But I have <br \/>to do 14 cardio sessions now a week<br \/>and weight train 5 days a week. Over<br \/>the next week I will be spending a ton<br \/>of time in the gym because of my goals.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes during the year, I lower my<br \/>body fat really low. My goal is to hit 6 <br \/>percent by June 1, 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I was in the gym. Right now<br \/>lots of my friends are training for all<br \/>sots of contents. Lots of them are angry<br \/>because their diets make them mad all<br \/>the time. It&#8217;s like they have bipolar<br \/>disorder but really don&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>You can look at someone and the flip<br \/>out saying you were saying stuff about<br \/>them (LOL).<\/p>\n<p>Good thing I am bigger guy.<\/p>\n<p>So a friend of mine comes in the gym. Let&#8217;s<br \/>call him Jim. <\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s mad because he says that he is tired<br \/>and he has to do a whole lot of cardio.<\/p>\n<p>Another friend of mine, let&#8217;s call him Steve,<br \/>is working out. Steve has a lot of weight and<br \/>is doing squats.<\/p>\n<p>Squats are an exercise that you put a lot of<br \/>weight on your back and squat down.<\/p>\n<p>Jim looks at Steve and is mad. He says and<br \/>I quote, &#8220;That dude&#8217;s form sucks. He&#8217;s a loser.<br \/>I hate looking at him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So then Steve eventually comes up to Jim<br \/>and starts talking to him. Everyone loves<br \/>to talk to Jim because he is really big,<br \/>in incredible shape, wins a lot of contests<br \/>and is super knowledgeable. You can have <br \/>virtually any problem with diet or exercise <br \/>and he has the answer. He is like a walking <br \/>specialist for men AND women.<\/p>\n<p>So anyway, today he&#8217;s especially angry due<br \/>to &#8220;low carbs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Steve is like, &#8220;Hey man, how did you get<br \/>a 700 pound squat?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jim replies, &#8220;What??? It wasn&#8217;t working<br \/>out like you do.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So then Steve feels dumb and is like, &#8220;umm,<br \/>can you help me?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Jim says, &#8220;Your form is a disaster, who<br \/>the heck taught you how to squat? You should<br \/>shoot them. You need to start from scratch<br \/>and just do the bar. You probably won&#8217;t because<br \/>you have no clue and you won&#8217;t listen to<br \/>me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>So Steve assures Jim he is a good student<br \/>and will listen to anything he says. <\/p>\n<p>NOTE-Can you imagine Jim as a therapist? LOL<\/p>\n<p>So basically Jim says that Steve&#8217;s so messed<br \/>up he has to start all over with the basics.<\/p>\n<p>He explains what a squat is for. What correct<br \/>form is. He makes Steve practice. He tells<br \/>Steve to do just the bar which is 45 pounds<br \/>for 1 month. Then add 90 pounds for 2 months<br \/>and that&#8217;s it. He said he would inspect his<br \/>form once a week or so.  <\/p>\n<p>He said that if Steve didn&#8217;t follow his plan <br \/>he would never speak to him again or ever <br \/>acknowledge that he existed because his time <br \/>is &#8220;valuable&#8221; and Steve was lucky that he was <br \/>even speaking to him for more than 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>I asked Big Jim about how he got his 700<br \/>pound squat. Big Jim is really nice to me.<br \/>I think because he wants to start a business<br \/>and he knows that I know how to do that. So<br \/>he respects me. He says Steve has nothing<br \/>to offer the world so he doesn&#8217;t really <br \/>respect him.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, 700 pounds is a whole lot of <br \/>weight. MY best lift was probably only<br \/>about 650 pounds.<\/p>\n<p>So big Jim said his form was no good<br \/>and he was doing it all wrong back in the<br \/>day. He asked for him from a guy.<\/p>\n<p>The guy was a top guy who screamed at him <br \/>and said he was a loser and had to stop <br \/>everything and start over from scratch. <br \/>(obviously Jim learned how to scream at <br \/>people from  this guy).<\/p>\n<p>So big Jim&#8217;s trainer yelled at him more<br \/>and more calling him &#8220;stupid&#8221; and finally<br \/>big Jim listened to him.<\/p>\n<p>He basically went back to &#8220;square one&#8221; <br \/>and started working out with just the bar<br \/>which is only 45 pounds.<\/p>\n<p>Then he added 90 more pounds and did that<br \/>for many months. Perfectly. <\/p>\n<p>SLOWLY over time he added more weight making<br \/>sure his weightlifting form was perfect.<\/p>\n<p>Because his form and his base was so perfect<br \/>he was able to have an incredible squat today<br \/>by adding more and more over time.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s this have to do with bipolar disorder?<\/p>\n<p>Nothing!<\/p>\n<p>Just kidding&#8230;.There&#8217;s a point to my story.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, I saw this blog post:<\/p>\n<p> terry said&#8230; <br \/>I see your point on medication but what about <br \/>the bi-polor who keeps trying medication and has <br \/>tried so many different kinds and they(dr.&#8217;s) <br \/>say give it time and be patient and wind up with <br \/>adverse reactions and they say you may be the 1<br \/>percent that med. won&#8217;t work for you or maybe <br \/>work for a short time and quit cause of rapid <br \/>cycling bi-polor&#8230;.Is there hope out there.<\/p>\n<p>(Again,)What are the basics of bipolar disorder?<\/p>\n<p>Get a great doctor<\/p>\n<p>Go and see him\/her<\/p>\n<p>Give them as much information as you have<\/p>\n<p>Be upfront and honest<\/p>\n<p>Realize it&#8217;s going to take time<\/p>\n<p>Report any side effects or situations with<br \/>the medications<\/p>\n<p>If you have bipolar disorder, give you<br \/>supporter the ability to communicate with your<br \/>doctor so he\/she can provide more information<\/p>\n<p>Go find a great therapist.<\/p>\n<p>Give them as much information as you have<\/p>\n<p>Be up front and honest<\/p>\n<p>In my courses\/systems below:<\/p>\n<p>SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?<br \/>Visit:<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bipolarsupporter.com\/report11\">http:\/\/www.bipolarsupporter.com\/report11<\/a><\/p>\n<p>SUPPORTING A CHILD\/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?<br \/>Visit:<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bipolarparenting.com\">http:\/\/www.bipolarparenting.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?<br \/>Visit:<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.survivebipolar.net\">http:\/\/www.survivebipolar.net<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I talk about all the little things you need<br \/>to do besides the list. They aren&#8217;t providing the doctor<br \/>with background and ongoing information.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a bunch of people who work for me who<br \/>didn&#8217;t do the basics and they were messed<br \/>up for YEARS and YEARS.
