That&#8217;s a truth.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>So far there is no cure for bipolar disorder.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>That is another truth.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>But that doesn&#8217;t mean there isn&#8217;t treatment for it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">You know I love equations, so mathematically, it looks like this:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>2<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>(loved one with bipolar disorder)\u00a0<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>+ 2<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>(no cure for bipolar disorder )\u00a0<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>5<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>(loved one will never get better)<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">Nope.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>Doesn&#8217;t work that way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">This is called denial, and I talk about denial in my courses:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">You can claim that you don&#8217;t have to manage the bipolar disorder in order for your loved one to get better,<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">or that it&#8217;ll go away by itself, but that&#8217;s just plain denial, and it won&#8217;t make it true.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">But that&#8217;s not the truth.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>That&#8217;s Like believing that 2 + 2 = 5.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">The real truth is something like this:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>2 (your loved one has BP) +2 (no cure, but management) <span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>4 (long term stability\/success)<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">As it relates to bipolar disorder, the only way to make the equation true, then (make 2 + 2 = 4), is to include management of the disorder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">Because only management of the disorder leads to stability.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>And long-term stability leads to success.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">So mathematically speaking, that&#8217;s the real truth about bipolar disorder (that 2+2=4).<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">And your loved one cannot reach long-term stability and success without your help. they can&#8217;t do it alone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">But they can do it with your help.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>That&#8217;s like the plus sign in our mathematical equation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">You are the plus sign.<span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>You add to the equation. <span style=\"mso-spacerun: yes;\"> <\/span>You add support, understanding, help, love, patience, and all the other many, many things you do to help your loved one to manage their disorder.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt; text-align: justify;\">You are part of the equation that helps your loved one to reach stability and success.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt;
