This is Probably the Hardest Thing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi,<\/p>\n<p>How&#8217;s it going?<\/p>\n<p>I hope you&#8217;re doing ok today.<\/p>\n<p>You know, we spend a lot of our lives just waiting.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting to grow up.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting to graduate from school.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting to move out.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting to get that career started.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for promotions.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for the right person to come along and marry.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for a baby to be born.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for our birthdays.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for holidays.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for vacations.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting to retire.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting in lines.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting at doctors&#8217; offices.<\/p>\n<p>Well, waiting is probably one of the hardest things for a supporter with a loved one who has bipolar disorder to do.<\/p>\n<p>Not just the waiting in doctors&#8217; offices\u2026<\/p>\n<p>But the waiting for your loved one to become stable.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s hard sometimes, especially if they aren&#8217;t stable right now.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s hard when you feel like you&#8217;re all alone.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s why you need to have your own support system, along with other things like I teach in my<\/p>\n<p>courses\/systems about dealing with bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n<p>SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?<\/p>\n<p>Visit:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bipolarsupporter.com\/report11\">http:\/\/www.bipolarsupporter.com\/report11<\/a><\/p>\n<p>SUPPORTING A CHILD\/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?<\/p>\n<p>Visit:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bipolarparenting.com\">http:\/\/www.bipolarparenting.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?<\/p>\n<p>Visit:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.survivebipolar.net\">http:\/\/www.survivebipolar.net<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s hard just to cope and deal with bipolar disorder in the first place.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s why you need to read everything you can about the disorder, so you can be educated.<\/p>\n<p>And having knowledge, you can gain some control over the disorder.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s hard to be a good supporter.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes you may feel overwhelmed.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes you may have negative feelings.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes you may even resent or be angry at your loved one, just because bipolar disorder is so much a part of your life together.<\/p>\n<p>But waiting has to be the hardest thing to cope with as a supporter.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for your loved one&#8217;s medication to work.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for your loved one to learn to manage their bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for them to get better.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for your loved one to GET STABLE.<\/p>\n<p>But sometimes the wait is a long time.<\/p>\n<p>Some people with bipolar disorder don&#8217;t take to their medications at first.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a matter of trial and error to get them on the right medication.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes it&#8217;s hard to find the right doctor, psychiatrist and therapist for them.<\/p>\n<p>Some supporters of people with bipolar disorder find it very hard to even get their loved one into treatment.<\/p>\n<p>And waiting for a bipolar episode to end is the worst.<\/p>\n<p>You may feel really helpless.<\/p>\n<p>You may have to do some things that you don&#8217;t want to do, like put your loved one in the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>You may have to count on other people to help you.<\/p>\n<p>Your loved one may be hard to get along with.<\/p>\n<p>They may even be in denial, which can be very frustrating for you.<\/p>\n<p>So, yes, waiting is probably the hardest part.<\/p>\n<p>But if your loved one does the things they need to do to get better (get stable), you will not have to spend all your time waiting any more.<\/p>\n<p>The main thing is to get them into treatment and on the right medication.<\/p>\n<p>And to take care of yourself as well.<\/p>\n<p>Do you find yourself waiting on your loved one to get stable?<\/p>\n<p>What are you doing in the meantime?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi,<\/p>\n<p>How&#8217;s it going?<\/p>\n<p>I hope you&#8217;re doing ok today.<\/p>\n<p>You know, we spend a lot of our lives just waiting.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting to grow up.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting to graduate from school.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting to move out.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting to get that career started.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for promotions.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for the right person to come along and marry.<\/p>\n<p>Waiting for a baby to be born.<\/p>\n<p> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bipolarsupporter.com\/bipolarsupporterblog\/bipolar-this-is-probably-the-hardest-thing\/\" class=\"more-link pull-right\" rel=\"bookmark\">Continue Reading<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.6 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Bipolar?
