{"id":1875,"date":"2009-06-17T07:37:51","date_gmt":"2009-06-17T11:37:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bipolarcentral.com\/bipolarsupporterblog\/?p=1875"},"modified":"2009-06-17T07:37:51","modified_gmt":"2009-06-17T11:37:51","slug":"bipolar-lesson-from-a-paralyzed-friend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bipolarsupporter.com\/bipolarsupporterblog\/bipolar-lesson-from-a-paralyzed-friend\/","title":{"rendered":"Bipolar Lesson from a Paralyzed Friend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi,<\/p>\n<p>How do you feel today?<\/p>\n<p>I hope you&#8217;re feeling ok.<\/p>\n<p>I have a friend who was driving a motorcycle (dumb) and he crashed.<\/p>\n<p>Driving a motorcycle in New Jersey is seriously crazy.<\/p>\n<p>People drive crazy in New Jersey LOL.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, it was really bad.<\/p>\n<p>As a result his arm was paralyzed.<\/p>\n<p>The first doctor said that it would start working again.<\/p>\n<p>Time went by.<\/p>\n<p>It did not.<\/p>\n<p>My friend couldn&#8217;t work in his job.<\/p>\n<p>He became depressed. Sad. He lost tons of weight.<\/p>\n<p>I spoke to him and you want to know what I told him?<\/p>\n<p>Guess&#8230;.<br \/>\nScroll down for the answer<br \/>\nI told him that it&#8217;s going to be okay and it going to take time for his body to heal.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE I am not a doctor, therapist or offering medical advice.<\/p>\n<p>BUT I knew it was way too early. It was like a month and he expected to be perfect.<\/p>\n<p>I asked him if he made ANY progress and he said, &#8220;None.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I said, &#8220;None, zero, none at all?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said, &#8220;Well&#8230;a tiny bit.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I said, &#8220;Well, you are going to build on that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He was kind of annoyed at me.<\/p>\n<p>Every time I saw him, I told him to have patience.<\/p>\n<p>Guess what happen after 4 months?<br \/>\nScroll down&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>His arm started working again.<\/p>\n<p>Now he is upbeat!<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not perfect, but it&#8217;s almost there.<\/p>\n<p>Know what the bipolar lesson is?<\/p>\n<p>Before I tell you, I want you to guess then scroll down&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>You have to have patience when trying to recover or if your loved one is trying to recover&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Because otherwise you will get frustrated&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Get depressed&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And give up too early.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s like the &#8220;staying in there&#8221; quality I talk about in my courses\/systems that you have to have if you&#8217;re going to reach stability.
