{"id":1766,"date":"2009-05-14T06:33:39","date_gmt":"2009-05-14T10:33:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bipolarcentral.com\/bipolarsupporterblog\/?p=1766"},"modified":"2009-05-14T06:36:56","modified_gmt":"2009-05-14T10:36:56","slug":"don%e2%80%99t-assume-anything-with-bipolar-or-else","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.bipolarsupporter.com\/bipolarsupporterblog\/don%e2%80%99t-assume-anything-with-bipolar-or-else\/","title":{"rendered":"Don\u2019t Assume Anything With Bipolar Or Else"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi,<\/p>\n<p>How&#8217;s it going?<\/p>\n<p>I hate when people assume things, especially when they&#8217;re about me, don&#8217;t you?<\/p>\n<p>Like when people just assume that just because my mother has bipolar disorder that I have it too.<\/p>\n<p>Has that ever happened to you?<\/p>\n<p>If it has, then you know what I mean.<\/p>\n<p>Not much fun, is it?<\/p>\n<p>Well, if you assume things when it comes to bipolar disorder, it not only is not fun, but it can even be dangerous as well.<\/p>\n<p>For example, you can&#8217;t just assume that you know everything about the disorder, even if your<br \/>\nloved one has been diagnosed for a long time.  Actually, especially if your loved one was diagnosed awhile ago.<\/p>\n<p>Because knowledge about bipolar disorder changes all the time.<\/p>\n<p>There has been new research and new studies done on the disorder, and there are new ones coming out all the time.  You can&#8217;t just assume your knowledge is still accurate.<\/p>\n<p>So you need to keep learning about bipolar.<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s one of the main points I make in my courses\/systems &#8211; that knowledge is power, and that the more knowledge you have about bipolar disorder, the more power you will have over it.  In other words, the better you and your loved one will be able to manage it.<\/p>\n<p>SUPPORTING AN ADULT WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?<br \/>\nVisit:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bipolarsupporter.com\/report11\">http:\/\/www.bipolarsupporter.com\/report11<\/a><\/p>\n<p>SUPPORTING A CHILD\/TEEN WITH BIPOLAR DISORDER?<br \/>\nVisit:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bipolarparenting.com\">http:\/\/www.bipolarparenting.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>HAVE BIPOLAR DISORDER?<br \/>\nVisit:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.survivebipolar.net\">http:\/\/www.survivebipolar.net<\/a><br \/>\nYou can&#8217;t assume that your loved one&#8217;s bipolar won&#8217;t change, either, because it might.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes someone might be diagnosed with one type of bipolar disorder, but then after awhile, their disorder changes, and they are diagnosed with a different type of the disorder.
