Hi,<\/p>\n

I hope you’re having a good day.<\/p>\n

I was talking to a friend of mine about some problems I’m having.<\/p>\n

Oh, nothing big, just some problems.<\/p>\n

But apparently, I was complaining about it enough that eventually he said,<\/p>\n

“Well, it’s not ALL bad.”<\/p>\n

I looked at him like he was crazy!<\/p>\n

See, to me, at the time, it DID look all bad!<\/p>\n

But that’s because I was looking at it from the wrong perspective.<\/p>\n

I was looking at it from the problem’s point of view.<\/p>\n

I know that sound’s crazy.<\/p>\n

I’ve been accused of being crazy before, believe me.<\/p>\n

But hang in there with me, there’s a point to this.<\/p>\n

The problem has the point of view that, “You’ll never solve me, I’m impossible to solve.”<\/p>\n

And you know the thing about it is that people give up too easily.<\/p>\n

They agree with the problem’s perspective!<\/p>\n

They think, “Problem, you know, you’re right. There is no solution to you.”<\/p>\n

But I want you to think of it from a different perspective.<\/p>\n

I want you to think of it from the solution’s perspective.<\/p>\n

It’s kind of like the hide-and-seek game we played when we were children.<\/p>\n

The solution’s perspective is kind of like…<\/p>\n

“Here I am, I’m here someplace, you just have to find me!”<\/p>\n

It’s not always obvious.<\/p>\n

It doesn’t mean to hide. It really is there.<\/p>\n

Sometimes you just have to look for the solution.<\/p>\n

In my courses\/systems, I teach different problem-solving techniques, because they are important both for the person who has bipolar disorder and their supporter as well:<\/p>\n

Some kids were real easy to find, but others were harder to find?<\/p>\n

Well, it’s the same with solutions.<\/p>\n

Some are easy to find, but others are harder to find.<\/p>\n

You just have to look!<\/p>\n

Some solutions are right in front of you.<\/p>\n

Some you have to look for yourself.<\/p>\n

Others you can get by talking to other people about your problem.<\/p>\n

But some you just have to roll up your sleeves, and dig right into the problem.<\/p>\n

It’s like you have to say to it…<\/p>\n

“Problem, I am not going to let you defeat me. I’m going to solve you no matter what it takes.”<\/p>\n

Then there’s your own perspective.<\/p>\n

How do you see things?<\/p>\n

Do you see things from a negative or a positive perspective?<\/p>\n

Do you think, “I’ll never solve this problem,” and then throw in the towel without even trying?<\/p>\n

Or do you think, “There’s got to be a solution,” and then give it all you’ve got?<\/p>\n

It’s up to you.<\/p>\n

Finding the solution to your problems is a matter of perspective.<\/p>\n

It really can’t be ALL bad.<\/p>\n
